1Invitation from the IFSSH and IFSHT Presidents

Dear Colleagues,

Medical Congress is the placewhere we learn and areacquainted with the most

recent advances in our art. It is theplace where we meet old friends andmake new ones. Allied to this it isalso the opportunity we have to knownew places, new cities and newcultures. All this is being prepared forus in Sydney, during the 10thTriennial Congress of the InternationalFederation of Societies for Surgery ofthe Hand (IFSSH). Under theleadership of Roland Hicks, Chairmanof the Organising Committee, andMichael Tonkin, Chairman of theScientific Committee, our hosts haveprepared an event with all theingredients to become a landmark ininternational hand surgery.

The IFSSH invites all the associates ofthe 50 society members to come toSydney from the 11th to the 15th ofMarch 2007, for our major event. Thesocial programme is very attractiveand the scientific programme iscomplete, enfolding the mostpalpitating subjects of the presentstate of the art in Hand Surgery.

We hope to have representatives notonly from the country members butalso from colleagues whose countriesare not in the IFSSH yet. It will be anexcellent opportunity to discuss ourcases, to solve our doubts, to listen tothe greatest exponents of our areaand to know what happens in otherparts of our world.

To know Australia is a privilege andto participate in the InternationalCongress of IFSSH is the maximalachievement in terms of scientific up-dating in our specialty.

See you in Sydney in 2007.

Arlindo G. Pardini Jr. IFSSH President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is an honour and a pleasure toinvite you to the 7th TriennialCongress of the International

Federation of Societies for HandTherapy (IFSHT). The IFSHT Congresspresents an outstanding opportunityto meet colleagues from other parts ofthe world, to share their views andachievements about various topics ofhand therapy.

The congress is a combined meetingbetween the IFSSH and the IFSHT. Itwill bring together hand surgeons andhand therapists from the four cornersof the world to present their work andcreate an opportunity for exchange ofexperiences and ideas on a highinternational scientific level.

For many of us Sydney is locatedalmost as far away as you can get“down under”, but I am confidentthat the scientific programme and thesocial events will make the journeyworth-while.

I look forward to welcoming you toSydney 2007!
