MOST PRACTICAL: Network with industry professionals and get a sense of what the job

entails. This is necessary because, for someone like Mia, who does not have a significant work

experience the transition from school to a job will be very different from her expectations. It

will always help to adapt to new surrounding when one has thorough knowledge of the field

and how one’s job impacts the society at large.

MOST DISRUPTIVE: Go back to your native country and work at grass root level to make a

direct impact in those socio-economic sections that need attention and help the most. I believe

a Stanford graduate education not only teaches you subject matter but also life skills like how

to work in teams, within excruciating deadlines and always expecting the unexpected. The sum

total of such skills will definitely come in handy.

FAVORITE IDEA: Tutoring students via the office of accessible education. I am a believer

in the power of teaching and enabling someone else make the most of their lives via education.

Given the right pedagogy, anyone is capable of anything. Education is the single most factor

that can change a person’s destiny.
