Situation In a world created and run by adults, the thoughts and opinions of young people are often overlooked. The One Stone 24-Hour Think Challenge was a design thinking challenge that pitted the creative brainpower of high school juniors against issues of systemic complexity created by adults. More than 150 students from 23 Idaho high schools spent 24 hours tackling issues in STEM, health, life and education. Approach
• Red Sky conceived the idea and executed key tactics for the Think Challenge Blog, empowering students who participated in the 24-Hour Think Challenge to share their real-time experience with external audiences.
• The J. A. & Kathryn Albertson Foundation, Red Sky and the Idaho Statesman brought to life the Think Challenge Blog for a first person real time storytelling experience from the perspective of the participants.
• The Idaho Statesman hosted and set up the back-end infrastructure, allowing students to live blog their experience throughout the event.
Tactics • JKAF and Red Sky coordinated a posting schedule and designated
student writers in each group to be in charge of blogging. • Students were encouraged to blog (video or print) when they were
inspired, intrigued or had questions they wanted to pose to a larger audience.
• JKAF facilitated posting content to the back end of the site while the Idaho Statesman publicized the blog on social channels.
