It should confirm what the conclusions of the paper will be, highlighting their importance.

Submissions will be reviewed by the Organising Committee, and authors will be notified from September 2014 whether they have been selected for the conference. Successful authors must then submit a draft paper to be reviewed by the Scientific Committee.

The Host Country

Coastal Management is matter of global importance, and so we are delighted to be holding ICE Coastal Management outside of the UK for the first time.

The Netherlands is a low-lying territory, with one quarter of the country at or below sea level. Many areas are protected from flooding by dykes and sea walls, and much land has been reclaimed from the sea.

The Netherlands, was chosen as it is highly active in Coastal Zone Management. The country offers many leading examples of innovation, technology and general management, and there are many best practice case studies to be drawn from there.

Venue & Accommodation

Details will be announced in the coming months, and will be available to view on ice-coastalmanagement.com

Social Programme and Technical Visit

A drinks reception will take place on the first evening of the conference. This will be a relaxing opportunity for delegates to meet, make new contacts and catch up with old friends.

Delegates are encouraged to register to attend the conference dinner which will take place a short time after the first day of the conference has closed. Further details will be made available when registration opens. The conference dinner is an excellent opportunity to network with speakers and delegates.

The Coastal Management conference will also include an additional one day technical visit. Details will be announced over the coming months. The technical visit will provide an informative visit on points of interest to those working in the field of coastal management.

Sponsorship and Exhibition

Do you need to address a key global audience of coastal engineers? Would you like to use ICE Coastal Management as a meeting point? If so, contact us; the ICE will do the hard work for you, leaving you free to plan the content of your meeting.

Use this unique opportunity of a gathering of the world’s leading coastal engineers to launch and showcase new and exciting coastal products: a technical exhibition will be an integral feature of the conference. Sponsoring or exhibiting at this event will allow your company to:

About ICE

The Institution of Civil Engineers is a registered charity that strives to promote and progress civil engineering.

Founded in 1818 by a small group of idealistic young men, we were granted a royal charter in 1828 declaring our aim is to “foster and promote the art and science of civil engineering”. That is still our aim today. Now the number of members has grown, and ICE represents around 80,000 members worldwide. In short, we help civil engineers to shape the world

We do this by:

Being a qualifying body - providing an internationally recognised civil engineering qualification

Being a centre of excellence for civil engineering knowledge

Promoting the civil engineering profession by ensuring that everyone understands the positive impact that civil engineers have on society.

ICE Events

Within ICE, a dedicated events team organise a variety of events throughout the year, including conferences, lectures and networking opportunities.

Attending an ICE event is a great way to keep up-to-date with the latest thinking across the whole field of civil engineering and to participate in stimulating exchange of ideas and experience.
