● CCMC Model Runs:

Runs on Request: is a free service open to any scientist interested in running a space weather model that resides at the CCMC. You have to register with name and email and are allowed to make up to 4 different submissions on the the same date.

Outputs of all runs are archived on the CCMC's data storage systems and are publicly accessible by means of CCMC tools.

Possibility of costumized runs via a « spezial request » manually treated by the CCMC staff, including extending run duration, creating a new simulation grid, modification of standard boundary conditions and minor code modifications.

CCMC staff is always available to answer questions regarding model results and their applicability to specific science problems. Furthermore, CCMC staff will assist users in the interpretation of simulation results if requested.

Instand Run: models are available for instant execution and results viewing through the online interface.

Real Time Run: periodically executed real time simulations and results viewed online.

Page 8: Http://europlanet-ri.eu JRA3 / EMDAF Kick-Off-Meeting: Interactive Catalogue of Planetary Models & Data Analysis Tools (ICPM&DAT) R. Stöckler 1 (JRA3)

● CCMC Widgets:They also provide 4 useful tools for analyzing, disseminating and displaying model data and simulation results.

The CCMC Kameleon software: a software suite to address the difficulty in analyzing and disseminating the varying output formats of space weather model data.

CCMC space weather on Google Earth: experimental Google Earth space weather service provides overlays to various real-time simulation results being generated at CCMC.

CCMC space weather widget: displays plots that are derived from real time space weather simulations that are executed at the Community Coordinated Modeling Center at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. For Dashboard (Mac) or Yahoo Widget Engine (Pc).

Space Wethaer Awareness Widget(SWAN): displays images, plots, etc. of both observational data as well as model simulation data. Model simulation data is derived from real time simulations at the CCMC. (Mac OSX 10.4 or later)

● Center for Space Environment Modeling (CSEM):provide a working prototype of the NASA-funded Space Weather Modeling Framework SWMF which was developed to provide flexible “plug and play” type simulation capabilities serving the Sun-Earth modeling community.

http://butch.engin.umich.edu/swmf/

In its current form it links together nine models from the surface of the Sun to the upper atmosphere of the Earth:

1. SC – Solar Corona which includes the Eruptive Event Generator

2. IH – Inner Heliosphere

3. SP – Solar Energetic Particles

4. GM – Global Magnetosphere

5. IM – Inner Magnetosphere

6. PW – Polar Wind

7. RB – Radiation Belts

8. IE – Ionosphere Electrodynamics

9. UA – Upper Atmosphere

In the future the SWMF may be extended to include even more physics domains: Cometary Environment, Interstellar Neutrals, Outer Heliosphere, Plasmasphere, Planetary Satellites and Polar Wind. The SWMF implementation is based on the component technology and Object-Oriented Programming emulated in Fortran 90. The SWMF parallel communications are based on the MPI standard.

JRA3:JRA3: Existing Tools Existing Tools CISM [US]CISM [US]

● Center for integrated Space Weather Modelling (CISM):will integrate existing simulations of the four regions of space weather activity based on models already developed by Center members: a model of the solar corona (SAIC), a model of the solar wind developed at the University of Colorado, a Dartmouth model of the magnetosphere, and a model of the interaction between the magnetosphere and earth’s ionosphere (NCAR).

http://www.bu.edu/cism/

Maybe useful due to:

CISM_DX: (http://www.bu.edu/cism/cismdx/) is a community-developed suite of integrated data, models, and data and model explorers, for research and education. The data and model explorers are based on code written for OpenDX and Octave.

Providing some Publications, Presentations and Documents about space weather related topics.

Page 14: Http://europlanet-ri.eu JRA3 / EMDAF Kick-Off-Meeting: Interactive Catalogue of Planetary Models & Data Analysis Tools (ICPM&DAT) R. Stöckler 1 (JRA3)

● Ceintures de RAdiation de la TERRE (CRATERRE):The goal of the project is to develop new radiation belt models allowing a better description of the space environment (electron and proton) for mission specifications.

http://craterre.onecert.fr/home.html

Maybe useful for Task 3 and 4 due to:

ONERA-DESP-LIB: library to compute magnetic coordinates for any location in the Earth's environment for various magnetic field models and coordinate transformations.

IPSAT: Ionising Particle in Space Analysis Tool is a virtual observatory. A radiation belt data base has been developped and is being growing. Then a web interface to plot the data in many different ways and to compare them between different spacecraft on different orbits is provided.

● JRA3 Associates Matrix:

The process of finding new Associates motivating them to paticipate and accumulate their feedback will be an ongoing task.

At some point in the future we should conduct a user requirment study to define the most needed services and model categories. So all the associates and participants will have invluence on the focus of this catalogue. This is importent in the view of commisioned work at sub contract basis for missing, when realy needed, supplementation.
