Together with Iranian agent, Afriz Farayand Co.,
HERNIS was represented at the Oil show in Iran
18-22 April 2007. We experienced lots of activity
with customers and business associates from Iran as
well as some neighbouring countries in the region.
Both Afriz Farayand and HERNIS consider this
international exhibition a great opportunity to meet
with key customers and discus ongoing and
potential projects. The benefits gained through this
year’s participation strongly justify the attendance at
this annual event.

“When Reliability Counts” – Agent Seminar
In March, 10 HERNIS agents from 9
different countries came together to
participate in the first of three agent
seminars in 2007.
The frame was set with the theme
“When Reliability Counts”, which was
fully covered through presentations and
lively discussions, sharing knowledge and
valuable experience.
Everybody agreed, that the social gathe-
ring was just as important, and with the
seminar located in the idyllic surroundings of Koh Samui, there was time to
relax at the resort facilities, which only added to the positive memories.
The sales team at HERNIS stress that it is essential to keep the worldwide
net of agents a 100% updated on projects and products in order for them
to continue their valuable work in their respective countries.
During the agent seminar in Thailand this spring,
the annual Agent Awards were presented.
The “Agent of the Year” Award was given to our
Korean agent, Prime Technology Corporation for
achieving the highest gross sale during the year and
having positioned HERNIS on several large
projects.
The “Outstanding results” Award was honoured our
Iranian Agent, Afriz Farayand Co., for having
achieved the largest growth in turnover compared to
the previous year.
We congratulate both of them!

HERNIS is set in high-gear to produce our latest
technology to PRISCO’s new Crude Oil Tankers.
The CCTV System includes one EX286W Camera
Station and five EX291 Camera Stations on each
vessel. The HERNIS 500 NVR will be installed in
the main controller unit and will utilize both high
capacity video recording and video streaming over
TCIP/IP. This is a cost efficient and technically
preferred solution.
Area Sales Manager, Gaute Mørland explains the
new chosen CCTV configuration for Oil Tankers:
HERNIS State of the Art CCTV for PRISCO Oil Tankers
“The entire CCTV system will be controlled by the
owner’s client PC’s onboard and at shore. The
system has also built in advanced features, allowing
intelligent integration with the Fire&Gas system,
and other safety related systems onboard. This is all
with the purpose to increase the safety for personnel
onboard and the surroundings when sailing and
loading/offloading. When a system like this is
implemented in the security plan, it contributes to
compliance with ISPS by IMO”.

systems, which involves technical and commercial
support anywhere in the world. HERNIS also
develops solutions with back compatible product
range, and we can therefore support the vessels
through the entire lifetime.
“The primary purpose of installing HERNIS
CCTV systems on our new tankers is safety”,
emphasizes Mr. Konstantin Globenko, Technical
Director at PRISCO. “We wish to ensure the
possibility to monitor and control all critical
onboard operations, such as mooring, cargo
loading/discharge etc. from the office. Further, the
CCTV system will enable us to give advice and
support to the crew in real time when necessary.
This will give us the advantage of preventing any
potential ‘problems’ and avoid hazardous situations
in critical areas before they arise”.
About PRISCO:The Corporation operates 21 tankers with their
aggregate deadweight of 859,000 tons. Ice class
vessels including large-capacity vessels, equipped for
operation in freezing sea condition make up the
core of the Òompany’s fleet.
The Corporation policy is unloading uneconomic
and older vessels and replenishing the fleet with new
vessels. The PRISCO fleet includes ice-class vessels
with hull reinforcement, which are well equipped
for navigation under ice sea conditions.
Quality and SafetyPRISCO management and the fleet have been
certified by the Russian Maritime Register of
Shipping (MRS) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in
compliance with requirements of the International
Safety Management (ISM) Code and ISO-
9001:2000, ISO-1400:1996 standards, guaranteeing
that the PRISCO’s fleet and Management comply
with all the international standards and safety

Exd certified (Ex286W) and all the high quality real
time video images captured are directly downloaded
on HERNIS 500 Network Video Recorder. On
each WHRP, one camera is dedicated to view the
boat landing area to monitor personnel transfers
and to safeguard from intruders when the platform
is unmanned. The other cameras will view the
wellhead area to provide visual status and safety
information to the Control Room Operator on BO-

Chicken Biryani – Pakistani / Indian rice dish
From HERNIS agent, Arshad Hussain with HAWAR GROUP in Qatar we havereceived this recipe. He tells us that his mom gave him this recipe from Pakistan, because he is living alone in Qatar. He adds that this is a delicious Pakistani / Indianrice dish which is often reserved for very special occasions such as weddings, parties, or holidays. It has a lengthy preparation, but is definitely worth it.

DIRECTIONS:1. In a large skillet, in 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
fry potatoes until brown, drain and reserve the
potatoes. Add remaining 2 tablespoons oil to the
skillet and fry onion, garlic and ginger until
onion is soft and golden. Add chili, pepper,
turmeric, cumin, salt and the tomatoes. Fry,
stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Add yogurt,
mint, cardamom and cinnamon stick. Cover and
cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until the
tomatoes are cooked to a pulp. It may be
necessary to add a little hot water if the mixture
becomes too dry and starts to stick to the pan.
2. When the mixture is thick and smooth, add the
chicken pieces and stir well to coat them with the
spice mixture. Cover and cook over very low heat
until the chicken is tender, approximately 35 to
45 minutes. There should only be a little very
thick gravy left when chicken is finished cooking.
If necessary cook uncovered for a few minutes to
reduce the gravy.
3. Wash rice well and drain in colander for at least
30 minutes.
4. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil and fry the
onions until they are golden. Add saffron,
cardamom, garlic, cinnamon stick, ginger and
rice. Stir continuously until the rice is coated
with the spices.
5. In a medium-size pot, heat the chicken stock and
salt. When the mixture is hot pour it over the rice
and stir well. Add the chicken mixture and the
potatoes; gently mix them into the rice. Bring to
boil. Cover the saucepan tightly, turn heat to very
low and steam for 20 minutes. Do not lift lid or
stir while cooking. Spoon biryani onto a warm
serving dish.
