In 2009 New Covenant Church participated in the REVEAL Spiritual Life Survey to gain a deeper understanding of the spiritual lives of our congregation. The report that was provided indicated that our personal spiritual practices were a high priority for us with a high satisfaction with how NCC ministries factor into that spiritual growth. Also important, was a high participation in faith-based activities which include serving in the church and evangelistic opportunities. In 2010 and 2014 we followed up with additional surveys to see if we

were able to maintain this spiritual growth and the results confirmed

that many are growing in their faith. With all their research, the

REVEAL team has discovered a spiritual continuum to help us

understand the practical ways in which people grow spiritually.

Exploring Christ: People in this group have a basic belief in God

but they are unsure about Christ and His role in their lives.

Growing in Christ: The people in this group have a personal

relationship with Christ. They have made a commitment to trust

Him with their salvation and for their eternity, but they are just

beginning to learn what it means to be in a relationship with

Him.

Close to Christ: The people in this group depend on Christ daily

for their lives. They see Christ as someone who assists them in

life. On a daily basis, they turn to Him for help and guidance for

issues they face.

Christ-Centered: The people in this group would identify their

relationship with Christ as the most important relationship in

their entire lives. They see their lives as fully surrendered to

Jesus and His agenda, subordinating everything to His will and

desires.

With this in mind, NCC is determined to provide growing opportunities for all of our people to be the disciples of Christ who will follow Him no matter the cost. Life Groups are an important way we accomplish that goal. We provide groups in each of the continuum segments so that everyone has a place to grow. In the Life Group directory, each group has been color coded so you can select what you need to progress on your journey with Christ. Pray and ask the Lord to lead and guide you when you are choosing a group and then trust Him as your faith begins to increase through serving and obedience. (Luke 17:5-10; John 12:26)

Empowering Family

IMPACT FAMILY A top priority of NCC Impact Family Ministry is to partner with parents by coming alongside them and helping them to become the primary disciplers of their children. Our mid-week ministry opportunity is one important component of this mission. We begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8:00 pm. Our middle school and high school students meet for worship, teaching, and small groups. Our children attend age appropriate small groups. They will focus on theme related studies that promote an “explore and discovery” model of learning on how to walk the spirit filled life along with important character traits and virtues that should accompany a Christian life-style. For more information contact: Pastor Melanie Robertson - 627-9000

Characteristics of Home Groups

22

The Home Group meets around a common interest in sharing life in

Christ, and this results in discipleship, ministry, prayer, love,

evangelism.

Building relationships, including love and trust within a small group

or family of Christians, is a key component of Home Groups, rather than

teaching material or gathering information.

They meet continuously, usually with a one year commitment. They

can take breaks whenever they decide and these may coincide with the

semester schedule.

They can meet weekly or bi-weekly.

Groups may meet in the same home or they may rotate as they

choose. They may have fun times and events to build relationships.

They have four or more people attending regularly, plus the leader.

They develop and identify an apprentice leader. It is an important

goal to develop group members into future leaders.

Each meeting includes one or more of the following: worship, pray-

er, Bible study, testimonies, fellowship, a meal or snacks, ministry, and

group participation.

They welcome new people into the group at any time and people

can leave at any time, though they are encouraged to commit to 3-4

months period.

They encourage members to invite people who are outside the

church.

They are supported and encouraged by Pastors and Directors, who

also provide resources.

Groups may form around different age groups, interests,

ministries, shared hobbies, couples, singles, spiritual needs, geographic

areas, etc. Their study will vary according to the needs and interests of

the group.

The group fosters and develops long term friendships in a

discipling, mentoring atmosphere.

COVENANT MINISTRY TRAINING INSTITUTE (CMTI) is a one year

program that provides a vehicle to train local church leaders using

bible college material taught by inspired and experienced instructors

in a local church setting. This allows for the local church to provide

quality monthly bible college courses while still imparting local

church DNA into their leaders. The classroom work and other minis-

try experiences may be transferred to Vision International, an ac-

credited bible college, where the student can continue their educa-

tion and earn a degree. CMTI can be established in any US church

and with minor modifications can be implemented internationally.

TAKING PRAYER TO THE COURTROOM OF HEAVEN ••

Have you every wondered why sometimes heaven seems to remain silent to your fervent prayers? Have you ever felt frustrated and disillusioned that your prayers do not yield results? Prayer, at its very core, is where we insert ourselves into a spiritual conflict. Most instruction on prayer and spiritual warfare teach that we are on a battlefield. This Life Group will take a different approach. We will learn how to take our prayers to the courtroom of heaven. We will study the protocols that must be followed in the courts of God. We will learn how to be a part of the legal process of heaven that grants God the legal right to answer our prayers and fulfill His passion on our behalf on the earth. We will be using the book, “Operating in the Courts of Heaven” by Robert Henderson. Cost for the book is $15 for a digital copy or $20 for a hard copy. CROWN FINANCIAL ••••

The Bible says more about how to handle money and possessions than most any other subject, because everyone is challenged in this area of their walk with Christ. Walking in true financial freedom allows us to make Jesus Christ number one in our lives, because we can’t serve two masters. Crown Financial is a 10-week Bible Study, and you will learn to apply God’s financial principles to your life in a way that pleases Him and blesses you. The Crown group is limited to 8 participants.
