Eligibility Criteria
• Applicants with an undergraduate or Master’s degree• Citizenship and residence (each agency has its specific
criteria)• Minimum cumulative average for provincial funding
agencies• Master’s or PhD programs with important research
component• Number of semesters completed• Training location (Québec, Canada, abroad)

o Scientific quality of the proposed research (30%)oCommunication, personal characteristics and leadership skills

ApplicationProcedureo Applicant must complete and submit online application forms available on the funding agencies’ websites (PIN required)o Applicants must submit additional required documents such as letters of
recommendation, proof of citizenship or immigration status, transcriptsas PDF attachment(s) to the online application forms.o The application package must be submitted electronically by the applicant directly to the funding agency (except for SSHRC and NSERC Doctoral applications)o Applications may be completed in French or in Englisho For Quebec agencies, the title must be in Frencho Incomplete application packages will be deemed ineligible by the agencies

• Present a well-defined research proposal• Use clear and concise language• Clearly explain the originality of your proposal and its
contribution to the field• Ask your professor(s) to read and comment on your
application• Contact me if you have questions on the application
process• DO NOT prepare your application at the last minute.

• Start working on your application asap• Read all the documents about the program on the agency website• Talk to your professors about possible institutions, supervisors and
projects• Contact the Records Office for transcripts• Contact professors for letters of reference (if required)• Register in the agency’s online system(s)• Complete the online form(s)• Prepare and attach the additional documents required• Bring me a copy of your application package for review at least two
weeks before the deadline• Submit your application online for Master’s scholarships (to the
Research Office for NSERC and SSHRC Doctoral scholarships)
