COMING EVENTS FAMOUS FACES OF THE NORTH – YEAR FIVE AND SIX The topic for the Festival of the Famous in 2020 will be 'Famous Faces of the North'. The students have selected a famous person (past or present) from areas across northern NSW (anywhere between and to the north of Port Macquarie to Tamworth to Broken Hill, up to the NSW/QLD border). Students in years five and six will be presenting their research projects next Wednesday, 17 June. The students commenced their research on this last week and are busy preparing their presentation. A selected student from each school participating will then compete via zoom on Friday 26 June. SEESAW FOR FAMILIES It is great that some of our families have signed up for Seesaw. Staff are currently reviewing at home learning samples and learning how to add new learning samples to share with families. Youll only see posts created by your child or one of the teachers at GPS unless the task was set for everyone. As we are unable to invite our families into our classroom for visits or expos this term, we foresee this platform to enhance the partnership between home and school. SMILING MINDS UPDATE Recently all our students made glitter globes and a video to explain the purpose of the task and how the globe was made. Check it out on Seesaw. If you need us to re print your invite please let Mrs Bertuzzi know. NATIVE BEE HIVE We would like to thank Storm Marchant and Pat Greene for setting up a native bee hive in our school. The bees are Australian stingless bees. Our students are will be able to observe the bees going in and out of the hive. We are also looking forward to have a taste test later in the year. The gabay (native bee) make the gabai (honey).
