FALL 2020 NEWSLETTER

PAGE 1 The year moves on and what an eventful year it has been. We are gearing up for the 9irst virtual Oklahoma Scienti9ic Meeting. There are plenty of details in this newsletter, but I wanted to make sure I personally invited you to this year’s meeting. Dr. Corbett has produced a great and timely program. The great thing about this year’s meeting is you can sleep in your own bed and do not need to travel. If you have not had a chance to review the ACP Annual Report for 2019-2020, I suggest you take a look. This interactive, comprehensive look at the College’s activities and resources is very informative. To access online, go to ACPonline.org, log in, and head to MyACP at the top of the page. There will be a link from there to the presentation. The Oklahoma Chapter received the Silver Chapter Excellence Award again this year. I want to thank all those who were a part of this prestigious honor. Kathy Musson did a great job helping us get to the Silver level. Next year, we are going for Gold. I need everyone’s help in this effort. We have started an ad hoc committee to achieve the Gold Chapter Excellence Award. Several things fall out as challenges for us to achieve that level. Two areas that will need focus are membership and advocacy. For membership, we need to increase our membership. Invite your colleagues, medical students and specialists to join us as members in the American College of Physicians. You, as a member, realize the value of being a part of the American College of Physicians. Be sure to share that value with those around you. We also need to increase our members who achieve fellowship.
