“Getting Older, Getting Hired,” Jan. 30, 2014More than 200 people gathered at the Doubletree by Hilton in Skokie for “Getting Older, Getting Hired,” a celebration of the 50+ woman in the workplace.
Welcoming registrants were (front to back) Jonni Lukenbill, Roberta Glick, Jennifer Krapfl and Jorie Cotton.
Kali Raoul of The Image Studios (left), Linda Wolfe of JVS Chicago and Howard Meyer of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce were three of the driving forces behind “Getting Older, Getting Hired.”
Attendees were greeted at the Monaco Room by Terry McDonough and JVS Chicago 50+ working woman Rate Albeda.
Janet Anderson of Chicago (left) and Debbie Nelson of the Skokie Chamber of Commerce had a snack and did some networking before the presentation.
Lynn Charous of Glenview (left) got information about the Duman Entrepreneurship Center from Donna Rockin (right) and Sharon Belloff (second from right).
Arlene Wanetick of JVS Chicago’s Career Moves presented a factual, intriguing case for hiring 50+ women.
Amanda Flott Kinsey of Dress for Success International, contestant Vivian and Kali Raoul of The Image Studios regaled the audience with the story of Vivian’s update.
Contestant Leslie expressed her gratitude to everyone involved in “Getting Older, Getting Hired.”
Contestant Sarah delivered an emotional thank-you speech and made the evening’s finest announcement: she already has a new job.
Terri Worman, Associate State Director of AARP Illinois, talked about the advocacy role of AARP and the many services her organization offers 50+ women.
