The three Gili islands, composed of Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air are located off the northwest coast of lombok. in Sasak language, "gili" means "small island. " There are more than 30 Gilis around lombok but Trawangan, Meno and Air are by far the most frequently visited. Because of their proximity to the equator, they have a tropical climate throughout the year with an average air temperature of 28C and water temperatures ranging from 26 to 29C. The rainy season runs from november to April and the dry season from May to October. The Gilis bathe in the Bali Sea, at the convergence of the indian and Pacific Oceans and enjoy a drier

micro-climate than the rest of indonesia due in part to the fact that they are situated between two great volcanoes- Mount Rinjani on lombok and Mount Agung on Bali.like the majority of the lombok community, the inhabitants of the Gili islands are primarily Muslim and each island has a mosque(s) emitting sounds of live prayer five times daily. Bahasa indonesia is the national language spoken that unites all of the country’s islands but Gili locals speak Sasak Gili Air which is slightly different to Sasak lombok.About 200 years ago, fishermen from Sulawesi of Makassar, Bugis and Mandar ethnicities arrived on the Gili islands. They began to

settle temporarily because of the abundance of fish in the sea and the presence of fresh water on Gili Air and at that time, sectioning off a bit of land with string was enough to claim it. These otherwise nomadic people began to settle in the Gilis and cultivate the land, planting peanuts, tapioca and corn whilst continuing their tradition of fishing. They sold and exchanged their produce in the markets of lombok and also traded portions of their land for livestock, rice and other much needed items not native to the islands. Coconut palms are indigenous to the Gilis while mango, banana and papaya trees have been introduced over the years.

The first Western traveler to set foot on the Gili islands came in 1984 to Gili Air. By the mid 1990’s Bali had gained international recognition as a travel destination and the Gilis began to be known as an off-the-beaten-track paradise escape. Today, the Gili islands are flourishing and are attracting all types of visitors from every corner of the globe.

Over time, the people of the Gili islands have adapted to a multitude of changes and cultural immersions but have managed to maintain their cultural identity. historically the people here have seen their days of hardship when during WWii, lombok and the Gili islands were occupied by Japanese forces. The islands were used to contain prisoners of war and the locals endured forced labour. A hill situated on the south of Trawangan was used as a lookout post and today remnants of the bunker still remain. Trawangan derived it's name from the indonesian word "terowongan" meaning "tunnels" of which a network were dug by the occupying forces. The holes have since been filled in.

Il y a environ 200 ans, des pêcheurs de Sulawesi, des groupes ethniques Macassar, Bugis et Mandar sont arrivés sur les îles Gilis. Ils s'y sont installés car les eaux étaient très poissonneuses et aussi pour la présence d'eau douce sur Gili Air. à cette époque, il suffisait de délimiter un terrain avec une ficelle et de le nettoyer pour se l'approprier. Ces pêcheurs nomades se sont donc sédentarisés et ont commencé à cultiver des cacahuètes, du tapioca et du maïs tout en continuant la pêche. Ils vendaient ensuite leur produits ou faisaient du troc dans

les marchés de Lombok. Parfois ils échangeaient leur terre contre une vache ou d'autres produits qu'ils ne possédaient pas aux îles Gilis, notamment le riz. Les cocotiers ont toujours été présents sur les îles, les mangues, bananes et papayes sont venues plus tard.

Le premier étranger venu de l'occident est arrivé en 1984 à Gili Air et les premiers touristes, dans les années 90 lorsque Bali a acquis sa réputation mondiale ! Aujourd'hui, les îles Gilis sont de plus en plus populaires et séduisent un bon nombre de voyageurs venus de différentes horizons.

Au fil du temps, les habitants des îles Gili se sont adaptés à une multitude de changements et d'immersions culturelles, mais ont réussi à conserver leur identité. Historiquement, ils ont vécu des moments difficiles. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, l'île de Lombok et les Gilis étaient occupées par les forces japonaises. Les îles ont été utilisées pour maintenir les prisonniers de guerre et les habitants ont subi le travail forcé. Une colline située au sud de Trawangan a été utilisée comme poste d'observation et aujourd'hui les vestiges d'un bunker demeurent. Trawangan dérive son nom du mot indonésien "terowongan" signifiant «tunnel», un réseau a été creusé par les forces d'occupation. Les trous ont depuis été rebouchés.

There's also the option of watching movies screened at an open air beach "theatre." The rumored growth of Trawangan from a backpacker island into something of a glam island is supported by the unveiling

of new upscale boutiques, restaurants, resorts, spas, and now a heli-pad, however, it remains a hub of charm for a wide spectrum of travelers. it's an iconic island of variety with numerous options for every budget/lifestyle for eating, sleeping (backpacker dorms to luxury villas), entertainment and activities. Gili T has extraordinarily beautiful beaches and shimmering ocean waters of crystal-clear visibility for diving and snorkeling. This island boasts some of the finest coral gardens and the widest range of dive centers with the best socializing opportunities. Although it is predominately known as a party island, Gili T has much more to it and venturing away from the densely developed east coast, you can find a plethora of vacant beaches. Renting a bicycle is a great way to see the island, bearing in mind there are some sandy patches! Seeing how life works here can be very eye-opening: it's not an escape from reality- just a slightly different one but understandably surreal nonetheless! There are several conservation organizations based here including Gili eco Trust (GeT) and The Gili Shark foundation- ask around (try dive centers) about how you can get involved! As you may know- there is no motorized transport in the Gilis and what a soothing break that can be! Surfing is popular off the south and it's not unwise to speak to locals about the break. for a supreme viewpoint walk up the hill on the south that was previously used as a lookout during WW ii.

frangipani is the common name given to plants belonging to the genius Plumeria, which comprises around 7-8 species native to tropical Americas. it is a very popular tree in the Gilis because it is a very adaptable and resistant plant that is very easy to grow and produces beautiful flowers with a sweet and unmistakable smell. The most common and popular species in the Gilis are the Plumeria rubra and the Plumeria obtusa; they can be distinguished by the size of the tree, which is bigger for the Rubra than for the Obtusa and the shape of the petals, which are rounder in the Obtusa than in the Rubra.

The eco Trust have a new project ; to sell Organic Waste Boxes to businesses on the island and to provide training for the staff so that they know how to use them ! Once purchased, the boxes are then collected daily and replaced with a clean box for the day. So far they are collecting 500-600kg of organic rubbish everyday, but when 100% of the businesses are on board its estimated that this will increase to 9tons per day. The long term goal is to get all business’ on the island involved and to have the waste separated, so that it can be disposed of in the correct way. The eco Trust are also planning to create an organic garden where they will grow many diffrent kinds of food. The uniqueness of Seri Resort is probably the co-existence of very different atmospheres within the same property. One can swing by for breakfast at the breathtaking ocean view terrace, dip in the pool facing the beach or disappear in the peaceful and green realm of the Zen Area. Dominated by a large and recently built bamboo structure, the Zen Area is a special place that has a rejuvenating energy. Organic fruit and vegetables grow in the surrounding garden thanks to a simple but effective irrigation system and bodies and minds are restored by healthy juices and salads coming from the restaurant on the ground floor of the bamboo structure. On the upper floor, regular yoga classes are conducted in a big, open and naturally ventilated space. The spa completes the garden; 8 bamboo open bungalows where experienced therapists offer massages and a variety of beauty treatments.

L’aspect unique de Seri Resort est la coexistence d’atmosphères très différentes au sein de la même propriété. A few items on our menu are “Sawi Roll “ with tofu and almond spread, garden vegetables rolled in Sawi leaf (field mustard leaf), red rice salad, tofu burgers, and black rice pudding.

Most local produce is brought over by boat daily from lombok. Our organic garden has been very successful as we are using compost, and recycled water.

Really famous for its name and for the diversity of the marine life it offers, ShARk POinT is situated in the north-west of Gili Trawangan. it is made up of canyons at its deepest part, consisting of a series of three ridges and valleys, all parallel to the shore and going up to 25 meters deep. Suitable for all certification levels ShARk POinT has a bottom depth of 60 meters, reserved for the most experienced divers. you will however find plenty to do before reaching these depths. in the shallower water it is likely to find our very famous hawksbill turtles. So open your eyes wide because you may bump into whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, or you may see octopus, sweetlips, painted spiny lobster, moray, titan and clown triggerfish, schools of bluestripe snappers and many more!

Très populaire par son nom et pour la diversité qu'il offre, SHARK POINT

situé au nord-ouest de Gili Trawangan est fait de canyons dans sa partie la plus profonde. Composé de trois arêtes et vallées à la suite, chacune parallèle au bord de la plage et allant jusqu'à 25 mètres pour la dernière. Accessible à tous les niveaux de certifications, SHARK POINT touche le fond à 60 mètres pour les plus expérimentés. Mais vous trouverez largement de quoi faire, bien avant cela puisque c'est dans la partie peu profonde (0-10 mètres) où se trouvent les très célèbres tortues imbriquées. Alors ouvrez bien les yeux, parce que vous pourriez rencontrer des requins de récif pointes blanches et pointes noires, des langoustes mouchetées, des poulpes bleus, des murènes, des gaterins, des balistes titans et clowns, des bancs de vivaneaux et bien d'autres encore!

The Clown Triggerfish is a very colourful small fish with a big head and very sharp teeth. it can reach 50 cm of length and its head is around 1/3 of the body. Big white dots decorate the lower part of the body and the tail is striped in black and white. A yellowish reticulate pattern on the dorsal fins, yellow stripes along the dorsal and anal fins as well as on the gills brighten up the black background of the rest of the body. The mouth is surrounded by an orange-yellow ring and a thinner white one on the outside. A white stripe cuts across the muzzle just below the eyes. in juveniles, big white dots cover most of the body.Le baliste clown est un petit poisson très coloré ayant une grosse tête et des dents très fortes. Il peut atteindre 50 cm de longueur et la tête est environ 1/3 de son corps. La partie inférieure du corps est marquée par des gros points blancs et la queue présente des rayures noires et blanches. Un motif réticulé jaunâtre décore les nageoires dorsales, des bandes jaunes parcourent le long des nageoires dorsales et anales aussi bien que les branchies et font ainsi ressortir le fond noir du reste du corps. Un anneau orange-jaune et un anneau blanc plus fin entourent la bouche. Les juvéniles ont le corps presque entièrement couvert de gros points blancs.

Because of their feeding habits, they usually swim along the inner and outer parts of the reef, where most invertebrates live. They can be found up to 75 metres below the water surface, juveniles usually at greater depths than adults.Le baliste clown réside habituellement dans les eaux tropicales et se rencontre de l'océan Indien jusqu'à l'ouest de l'océan Pacifique. Ses habitudes alimentaires le poussent à nager le long des pentes récifales internes et externes, où la plus part des invertébrés habitent. On le trouve jusqu'à 75 mètres sous la surface

de l'eau, les juvéniles normalement à des plus grandes profondeurs que les adultes.

fOODClown Triggerfish are aggressive carnivores with a varied diet. They mainly feed on molluscs, krill and crustaceans, whose shell they easily crack open with their strong teeth.Le baliste clown est un carnivore agressif avec une alimentation très variée. Il se nourrit principalement de mollusques, krill et crustacés, dont ils ouvrent facilement la coquille avec leurs bonnes dents.

RePRODUCTiOnMating and reproduction are regulated by the moon and the tide cycles. During mating season, solitary Clown Triggerfish will establish territories and prepare seafloor nests, where mating

takes place. eggs are laid by the thousands and taken care of by females until they hatch, while males guard the nests. in some species, many females share the same male and tending their eggs in the same spawning ground. Males are known for their aggressive behaviour; they are very territorial and they do not hesitate to use their teeth towards whoever approaches their nests, may these be other fish or divers.L'accouplement et la reproduction sont réglés par les cycles de la lune et des marées. Pendant la saison des amours, le baliste clown cesse d'être solitaire, établi son territoire et prépare un nid au fond de la mer, où a lieu l'accouplement. Les femelles pondent des milliers d'œufs à la fois et en prennent soin jusqu'à l'éclosion, alors que les mâles protègent le nid. Dans quelques espèces, plusieurs femelles partagent le même mâle et gardent les œufs dans la même frayère. Les mâles sont connus pour leur comportement agressif; ils sont très territoriaux et n'hésitent pas à mordre ceux qui s'approchent du nid, autant les autres poissons que les plongeurs.

Snorkeling (mask, snorkel, fins) is a good way to freely explore the waters around Gili islands! you can see turtles, all kinds of fish, blue-spotted stingrays... let yourself drift with the current, whilst being careful because sometimes it can be very strong! you can rent the equipment very easily on all three islands. Another alternative is a snorkeling trip - a day out on a boat. you leave in the morning around 9am for a full circuit of the Gilis, visiting the best snorkeling spots of the three islands. you stop for lunch and finish about 4pm. you can book this trip on site or at your hotel.Le snorkeling (masque, tuba, palmes) est un bon moyen d'explorer les fonds marins des îles Gili en toute liberté ! Vous pourrez apercevoir des tortues, toutes sortes de poissons, des raies pastenague à points bleus... Laissez-vous dériver par le courant en faisant attention car parfois il peut être très fort ! Vous pourrez louer le matériel très facilement sur les trois îles. Autre alternative, le snorkeling trip, sortie en bateau pour la journée. Alexandre Ugolini has taken over the kitchens of Caballito de Mar. The 30 year old french chef, born in Avignon has cultivated his love for Mediterranean cuisine with his mother and grandmothers who were an inspiration to him. i always loved food from Southern france for its freshness and its powerful taste; i have therefore taken my bike towards Caballito southeast of Gili Air. i pass the door, along the driveway and discovered a beautifully decorated intimate place, and a lounge on the first floor with magnificent views of lombok, overlooking the sea! What more? i'm ready to taste the food!

Alexandre Ugolini a pris en main les cuisines du Caballito de Mar. Ce chef Français, né en Avignon a cultivé son amour pour la

cuisine méditerranéenne avec sa maman et ses grand-mères qui ont été source d’inspiration et d’expérience pour ce trentenaire

passionné. J’ai toujours aimé la cuisine du sud de la France pour sa fraicheur et ses goûts puissants ; j ai donc pris mon vélo,

direction le Caballito au sud-est de Gili Air. Je passe la porte, longe l’allée et découvre un endroit intimiste très joliment décoré, et

un lounge au premier étage avec une vue magnifique sur Lombok, face à la mer ! Que demander de plus ? Je suis prête pour la

Arriving at the scene, i settle, i get the menu, my eyes go from left to right, top to bottom... Alexandre approaches me and asks me if he can kindly recommend me something. i answer with a definite yes and welcome the discussion. Then i learn that Caballito has been open for 2 years now, they want to focus on a french menu with Mediterranean influences with a refined and varied menu and fresh produce. The chef himself even chooses his fish in lombok! Caballito offers barbecue evenings on fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with a wide selection of meat and fish, a salad buffet and homemade bread. The menu is really "Mediterranean" but i also found curry chicken, ayam soto mie goreng, traditional dishes just re-visited by the chef! it's 5:30 pm the sun is about to set and it is not yet dinner time, so i'm with a friend and choose the option ‘Sunset formula Duo’.

Arrivée sur les lieux, je m’installe, on me donne le menu, mes yeux vont de gauche à droite, de haut en bas ! Alexandre s’approche de moi et me demande gentiment s’il peut me suggérer quelque chose. Je réponds d’un oui affirmatif et nous engageons la discussion. J’apprends alors que le Caballito, ouvert depuis 2 ans veut à présent se focaliser sur une carte française aux influences méditerranéennes avec un menu recherché et varié et des produits frais. Le chef va lui même choisir ses poissons à Lombok !Caballito propose des soirées barbecue tous les vendredis, samedis et dimanches avec un large choix de viandes et poissons, un buffet de salades et du pain, fait maison. La carte est vraiment accès "Méditerranée" mais je retrouve aussi le poulet curry, le soto ayam et l’incontournable mie goreng ! Des plats traditionnels simplement re-visités par le chef ! Il est 17h30, le

soleil va bientôt se coucher et il n’est pas encore l’heure du repas, je suis avec un ami et choisis donc l’option Sunset Formule Duo.

Two glasses of wine and a charcuterie plate arrived at our table! i can’t believe i can eat this in indonesia, particularly on this little island paradise! The chef said he has reviewed the menu and here are some juicy details: At noon, all focus is on freshness, lightness, with colorful dishes like gazpacho or salmon tartare. in the evening, the chef offers elegant and refined dishes with french-style starters and mains !!! Come and taste the delicious snails or tarte tatin with cherry tomatoes and tapenade. you should try the bouillabaisse, fish soup, specialty of southern france or the "signature" dish: tournedos Rossini! This fillet beef called "Black Angus" is served with genuine foie gras imported from france and its delicious wine sauce. A treat for the taste buds and especially unheard of in Gili Air! The afternoon and evening, you can also opt for Tapas with zucchini fritters, mini fajitas or tapenade made by Alex, the subtle taste comes from his mum’s secret recipe! And that's not all, for gourmets, the chef has also

put his "two cents" in desserts and offers you a pie of the day, a chocolate fondant, a panacotta with strawberry or his famous baba rum. Again a real pleasure for the taste buds! i let myself be tempted by an espresso accompanied by his sweet madeleine cake to finish the meal.i wanted to thank the team of Caballito and Alexandre for his kindness, professionalism, and above all for that sunny taste experience! i'll be back.

Deux verres de vin ainsi qu’un plateau de charcuterie arrivent à notre table ! Je n’arrive pas à croire que je puisse manger cela en Indonésie et surtout sur cette petite île paradisiaque ! Taking part in the celebrations, even by simply sharing a traditional meal, is a way to pay tribute to indonesians' fight for freedom. Merdeka!

Il a fallu beaucoup d'années de lutte pour que l'Indonésie gagne son indépendance de la domination étrangère et qu'elle devienne un pays démocratique et une économie en plein développement dans un monde globalisé. Le 17 août a une place spéciale dans le cœur de tous les Indonésiens et, cette année, la 70ème depuis la Proklamasi, la proclamation d'indépendance qui fut lue à haute voix par le futur premier président de l'Indonésie, est d'autant plus éloquente. Just two days after the nagasaki atomic bombing by the USA, indonesian activists decided to publicly release this statement and reveal an intention that had been planned carefully for months. however, it took indonesia another four years of struggles with the Dutch, the colonisers of indonesia, to be formally acknowledged by the United nations as an independent country in 1949.

Pramoedya Ananta Toer is probably the most important voice of indonesian freedom. Writer and activist, Pramoedya spent great deal of time in prison because of his ideas; imprisoned by the Dutch in the late 1940s for pro-independence activities, he went back to prison under Sukarno rule because of his opinions regarding the oppression of Chinese ethnic minorities, and spent 10 years in a prison camp on the island of Buru for the dissident ideas published in his books. he wrote in indonesian and his books were translated in several languages and sold in the whole world; however, only from

the early 2000s were his books available in indonesia, though the formal ban on them has actually never been lifted. he is recognized internationally as the symbol of creative freedom and in 1988 he received the freedom-to-Write award by the international Pen's writers' organization. his most famous book is probably the Buru quartet, a series of novels written during the imprisonment in Buru that retrace the history of colonial repression through the Dutch colonisation. Pramoedya Ananta Toer died in Jakarta in 2006 and never won the nobel Prize for literature, although he was mentioned as a candidate several times.

Tumpeng is a traditional dish made to celebrate special occasions in Java, Bali and Madura. in yogyakarta, the “tumpeng ceremony” takes place on the eve of independence day. The composition of tumpeng reflects the diversity of indonesia and is a symbol of gratitude as well as of hope for the welfare of the nation. Moreover, it symbolises the greatness of God and of the diversity of living beings on earth. Although many versions of the tumpeng are now served throughout indonesia, the traditional tumpeng is composed by a cone-shaped rice surrounded by a series of typical dishes of which: one meat dish to represent land animals, a seafood dish to represent marine creatures, an egg to represent flying animals and vegetables to represent plants.Le Tumpeng est un plat traditionnel que l'on prépare lors de fêtes importantes à Java, à Bali et à Madura. komodo offers warm waters all year round, visibility up to 30m, drift diving, colourful coral reefs frequently visited by napoleon wrasses, manta and large pelagics, turtles and dense schools of fish, deep seamounts with sharks, tuna and trevallies hunting the fusilliers, caves, overhangs and current exposed pinnacles. Some komodo dive sites are famous for the aggregations of Manta Rays.The macro lovers can also discover amazing and bizarre creatures during a muck dive near the mangroves or on a sandy slope : frog fish, ghost pipefish, pygmy seahorses, nudibranches or mandarin fish. One of the reasons why there is a vast diversity of marine life in komodo is the strong movement of water between the flores Sea to the north and the indian Ocean to the South. The Park is sandwiched between the two large islands of flores and Sumbawa, which block the north-south flow of water and channel it through the narrow strait of komodo national Park. komodo experiences tidal currents (a result of the relative positions of the moon and sun, and the rotation of the earth), coastal currents (affected by the wind, waves and land formations), and oceanic currents (driven by the wind and differences in water temperature and salinity). The oceanic

currents are responsible for the regular supply of nutrient rich waters to komodo and therefore its high marine diversity, but it is the tidal currents that have the biggest impact on dive site conditions. komodo can be dived at any time of the year, the best favorable sea and weather conditions are from March to December. With breathtaking marine and terrestrial beauty, komodo has become one of the world's very best diving destinations.

Warung is one of the words in Bahasa indonesian you are likely to hear more often. Meaning “small restaurant”, in indonesia and in Malaysia a warung is an institution that indicates local food at a cheap price and in a familiar atmosphere. This word does not indicate the speed the meal will be served and it can be a fast food restaurant or a slow pace one according to what you decide to eat. if you go for nasi campur (mix rice), you will just have to pick what you want from the dishes on display and eat it right away. if you go for the warung best sellers such as mie goreng (fried noodles), nasi goreng (fried rice) or soto ayam (chicken soup), you will have the time to crack into a couple of krupuk (rice crackers) and burn your lips sipping a teh manis panas (sweetened hot tea) before you get served. in case you are daring and order some Western dish on the menu, you may end up spending the whole day in the warung and eventually become a member of the local family who runs the place!

En Malaisie et en Indonésie le warung est une institution qui indique de la nourriture locale à bon marche et dans une ambiance familiale. Sambal is an Indonesian and Malaysian condiment made from peppers. It can vary in heat, but it’s usually rather spicy. There are over 300 varieties of sambal in the Indonesian archipelago which differ depending on the ingredients that are added. The following recipe is the basic recipe.Le sambal est un condiment d'origine Indonésienne et Malaisienne à base de piments. Il peut être plus ou moins relevé, mais en général plutôt épicé. Il existe plus de 300 variétés de sambal dans l'archipel indonésien qui diffèrent selon les ingrédients que l’on y ajoute. La recette suivante est la recette de base.

MeThOD - PRéPARATiOnUsing a mortar and pestle, finely crush the shallots, garlic, chillies (with the stems removed), palm sugar, shrimp paste, salt and 3 tbsp. of water until you obtain a puree. Taste and add more sugar if it's too strong. Use it as a condiment. it keeps for several days in jar.

Dans un mortier, écrasez avec le pilon, très finement, les échalotes, l’ail, les piments (sans leurs tiges), le sucre de palme, la pâte de crevette, le sel et 3 c. à café d’eau jusqu’à obtention d’une purée. Goûtez et ajoutez du sucre si c'est trop fort. à consommer comme un condiment, et se conserve plusieurs jours dans un bocal.

t his is the story of a cracker called kerupuk. it lives with its friends in a very large jar. White, appetizing and very cunning, it does not want to be eaten by anyone. for indonesia’s independence Day, it is hanged on a thread for the game of lomba makan kerupuk. The first candidate is

a boy who has to eat it without his hands. he tries to catch it with his small teeth, but the crackers starts to sing: "i am kerupuk, kerupuk! in the oil they fried me, to better eat me! i was left on a tray, but i preferred to run away! "And it escapes making crispy sounds. Then the father tries to seize it with his big teeth, but the cracker starts to sing again, "i am kerupuk, kerupuk!” Somehow, no one can resist the tempting voice of the cracker, which reminds one of the sounds of frying. finally, a toothless old man approaches to take part in the game. Amused and proud of its success, the cunning cracker starts to sing. "i am kerupuk, kerupuk!” But the clever grandfather interrupts it:"i can’t hear anything, what are you saying darling? i am old and deaf, come closer.” So kerupuk comes forward, but suddenly, the old man crunches down on it...

C’est l’histoire d’une chips qui s’appelle Kerupuk. Elle vit avec ses copines dans un grand bocal. Blanche, appétissante et fort rusée, elle ne veut se faire manger. Le jour de l’Indépendance en Indonésie, pour Lomba makan kerupuk, le jeu des chips, elle se fait suspendre à un fil. Le premier candidat est un enfant qui doit la manger sans les mains. Il essaye de l’attraper avec ses petites dents, mais elle se met à chanter : "Je suis Kerupuk, Kerupuk ! Dans l’huile on m’a doré, oh pour mieux me croquer ! On m’a mise à refroidir, mais j’ai préféré m’enfuir !" Et elle s’échappe en croustillant. Puis le père essaye de s’en emparer avec ses grandes dents, mais la chips chante de plus bel : "Je suis Kerupuk, Kerupuk ! "Décidément, personne ne peut résister à la voix appétissante de la chips, qui rappelle la friture. Finalement, un vieillard édenté s’approche pour participer au jeu. Amusée et fière de son succès, elle se met à entonner : "Je suis Kerupuk, Kerupuk !" Mais le grand-père habile, l’interrompe : "Je n’entends rien, que dis-tu jolie chips ? Je suis vieux et sourd, approche-toi." Alors Kerupuk avance, et hop ! Le vieillard la croque...

On Gili Air- public boats leave to lombok starting at 7:30am. Meno to lombok, twice a day, at 8am and 3pm. And on Gili T starting at 7am until 5pm. Sur Gili Air les bateaux publics partent vers Lombok à partir de 7h30. Sur Gili Meno, deux fois par jour à 8h et 15h. Sur Gili T à partir de 7h du matin jusqu'à 17 h.

WATeRDrinking water in the Gilis is imported from narmada in lombok. it is not advised to drink tap water. L'eau potable des îles Gilis est importée de Lombok à Narmada. Il est déconseillé de boire l'eau du robinet.
