ANNEX “M”

PUBLIC SAFETY FIELD TRAINING PROGRAM (PSFTP) GRADING SYSTEM

Grading System for Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP)

The grading system for PSTFP is based on two general criteria. Namely, PSBRC, which has a weight of fifty percent (50%) of the total grade in Academics which is seventy percent (70%) and Non-academics, which is thirty percent (30%) of the total grade, and FTX which has a weight of fifty percent (50%) of the total grade in FTX Area which is fifty percent (50%) of the total grade, and FTX ORSITE, which is fifty percent (50%) of the total grade:

PSFTP Final Grade = PSBRC Final Grade + FTX Final Grade 1. Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC) Final Grade (50%)

The PSBRC Final Grade is taken from the sum of the final grades in Academics (70%) (See Rule XI Academic Policies) and Non-Academics (30%) (See Rule XII Non Academic Policies).

PSBRC Grade = (Final Grade in Academics x 70%) + (Final Grade in Non-Academics x 30%) x 50%

2. Field Training Exercise (FTX) Final Grade (50%)

The FTX Final Grade is based on two criteria, namely FTX Area Final Grade, which has a weight of fifty percent (50%) of the total grade in the following:

Patrol 1 (Beat Patrol) 20%Patrol 2 (Police Community Relations) 20%Patrol 3 (Intelligence) 20%Investigation 20%Traffic 20%

Total 100%

And FTX ORSITE Final Grade, which has also a weight of fifty percent (50%) of the total grade in the following:

Rank Inspection/Basic Knowledge 20 %Physical Fitness Test 20 %Readiness on Patrol Operations 20%Readiness on Traffic Operations 20%Readiness on Investigation Operations 20%

Total 100%

a. FTX Final Grade (50%)

FTX Final Grade = (FTX Area Final Grade x 50%) + (FTX ORSITE Final Grade x 50 %) x 50%

1. FTX Area Final Grade = FTX Patrol 1 Grade + FTX Patrol 2 Grade + FTX Patrol 3 Grade +FTX Investigation Grade + FTX Traffic Grade

Page 22: FTO Checklist, DPRR, PSFTP Grading System

wherein:

FTX Patrol 1 Grade = ∑ Daily Grades in FTX Patrol 1 x 20% No. of work days in FTX Patrol 1

FTX Patrol 2 Grade = ∑ Daily Grades in FTX Patrol 2 x 20% No. of work days in FTX Patrol 2

FTX Patrol 3 Grade = ∑ Daily Grades in FTX Patrol 3 x 20% No. of work days in FTX Patrol 3

FTX Investigation Grade = ∑ Daily Grades in FTX Investigation x 20% No. of work days in FTX Investigation

FTX Traffic Grade = ∑ Daily Grades in FTX Traffic x 20% No. of work days in FTX Traffic

2. The Daily Grade of each FTX Area is taken from the following criteria:

Daily Grade:Performance 30 %Attitude and Community Relation 25%Knowledge 20%Appearance 15%Punctuality and Attendance 10%

TOTAL 100%

3. The summation of Daily Grades (∑) is the sum of all the Daily Grades in each FTX area.

4. The Number of Work Days for each FTX Area is thirty (30) days. For grading computation, any police trainee who fails to report for duty due to unexcused absence/s will be given a daily grade/s of fifty percent (50%). However, any police trainee who fails to report for duty due to excused absence/s such as court duty, command duty and official pass/sick call is exempted and his/her number of days of excused absence/s will be deducted from his/her number of work days which shall have a ceiling of twenty two (22) number of work days to prevent any excess excused absences.

b. FTX ORSITE Final Grade (50%)

FTX ORSITE Final Grade = Rank Inspection/Basic Knowledge + Physical Fitness Test +

Readiness on Patrol Operations + Readiness on Traffic Operations + Readiness on Investigation Operations Rank Inspection/Basic Knowledge = ∑Rating of Inspectors x 20%

No. of Inspectors

Physical Fitness Test= Rating based on PNP PFT Standard x 20%

Readiness on Patrol Operations = ∑Rating of Inspectors x 20% No. of Inspectors

Readiness on Traffic Operations = ∑Rating of Inspectors x 20% No. of Inspectors

Readiness on Investigation Operations = ∑Rating of Inspectors x 20% No. of Inspectors
