BRENTANO QUARTET
2018 - 2019 38th CONCERT SEASON
“As usual with this ensemble, the perfomances were full of life... They seem to be listening to the same heartbeat.”– The New York Times
The Brentano Quartet has appeared throughout the world to popular and critical acclaim since its inception in 1992. In addition to performing the entire two-century range of the standard quartet repertoire, the quartet is immersed in both very old and very new music. It has performed many musical works pre-dating the string quartet as a medium, among them madrigals of Gesualdo and fantasias of Purcell. The quartet has also worked closely with some of the most important composers of our time. Since 2014, the quartet has been Resident String Quartet at the Yale School of Music.

DANISH STRING QUARTETSYMPATICO PERCUSSION GROUP
“...at once lively and profound.”— The San Francisco Chronicle
“...engaging chamber quintet that will showcase percussion like you've never seen it before.”–The Casper Journal
The Danish String Quartet performs with high technical and musical quality, incorporating the joy of playing. The powerful impact the quartet makes on stage and its fresh approach to familiar repertoire have become its trademark and a reason the quartet has won multiple competitions in Europe and the USA. The three Danes met as pre-teens at a summer music camp, and they and one Norwegian cellist have been playing together for a decade. In addition to the classical chamber repertoire, they play and compose Scandinavian folk music.
Sympatico Percussion Group (Scott Herring, Joseph Krygier, Johnny Mendoza, Christopher Norton, Susan Powell) creates programs with entertainment and intrigue, virtuosity and poignancy, and appealingmelodies and vibrant rhythms from around the world. Their diverse and eclectic repertoire includes rudimental drumming, ragtime xylophone, pop transcriptions, and wonder-fully uncategorized original compositions that embrace global streams of contem-porary musical styles. Enthusiastic audiences exclaim that Sympatico concerts are "beyond imagination...absolutely engaging!" As Sympatico, they have performed at several Percussive Arts Society events and for university, community, and festival concert series.

MINETTI QUARTETT
“...technically precise...spiritually cohesive...”—Palm Beach Daily News
The Minetti Quartett are rising stars of classical chamber music with a focus on Schubert, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Beethoven, along with music of the 20th century. These four Austrian musicians living in Vienna have performed at concert halls throughout Europe and at chamber music festivals all over the world. For its 15th anniversary, the quartet began its own cycle of concerts at Vienna’s newest venue, the MuTh concert hall. They will continue this successful series through the 2018/19 season. A newly recorded CD with 20th century music and concert tours in Europe and America further highlight this season.
