WHY HAVE A THANKSGIVING?

Flaming Word Ministry celebrates its 4th

annual Thanksgiving ceremony this year. The

idea to host such an event was born through

the large number of members having their

personal thanksgiving celebrations throughout

the year. Suddenly the FWM calendar was

overbooked with thanksgiving requests so

much that it was virtually impossible to

accommodate everyone. Thus the ministry

came up with an innovative solution for this

problem. The last Sunday of November each

year was dedicated to host a mass

Thanksgiving celebration for our members in

one place. As such, the ministry undertakes all

the arrangements for you such as preparation

of the venue, food, drinks, decorations and

entertainment. Thus, all you have to do is buy

your tickets, invite your friends and family and

come have a lovely time.

Since biblical times there has been a strong

positive correlation between giving and your

level of prosperity. Jesus tells us in Luke 6:38

“Give, and it will be given to you: good

measure, pressed down, shaken together, and

running over will be put into your bosom.” In

light of this, our theme this year is ‘Prospering

through Thanksgiving.’ Stay tuned to our

services to hear powerful testimonies from our

members regarding this.

The 2009 Thanksgiving committee is

committed to make this year’s event a

memorable experience. We have taken the

liberty to answer some of the most frequently

asked question regarding this program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE TICKET?

The ticket price has been

subsidized by FWM and its

sponsors. Adult tickets cost

$100.00 and tickets for children

10 years and under cost $60.00.

2. WHERE CAN I GET

TICKETS?

Tickets will be available from

Wednesday 4th November.

3. IS THERE A DEADLINE

FOR PAYMENT FOR

TICKETS?

Yes! While you can make your

payments for your tickets in

installments, all tickets must be

fully paid for by SUNDAY 22ND

NOVEMBER, 2009.

4. CAN I RESERVE A TABLE

FOR MY FAMILY AND

FRIENDS?

Yes. You can reserve a table for

8 or more persons for a cost of

$20.00. To make seating

arrangements easier and more

comfortable for you we

recommend that you reserve

tables for persons in multiples of

6. HOW SHOULD I DRESS?

Our Day of Thanksgiving has always coincided with our ‘dress down Sunday’. However, over the years, we have observed a tendency by members to ‘dress up’ for the occasion. We recommend that you be guided by an elegantly casual dress code. Our colour scheme this year will be yellow, black and white for those who wish to adhere to the theme colours.

7. WHAT FORMAT WILL THE THANKSGIVING TAKE?

From 10:15am we will have a special Thanksgiving Day service featuring a ‘must see’ dance by the FWM Glory Dancers and a dynamic message by Bishop Dave Alleyne. This portion of the day’s program will take place inside the sanctuary. At approximately 12:45pm members will make the transition to the FWM carpark which will be transformed into an attractive dining and entertainment area. Food and drink will be served buffet style and then persons will be entertained for the rest of the evening

8. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE DAY’S HIGHLIGHTS?

You will enjoy a hit performance by Faith ‘Neriah’ Eligon. We also have in store a karaoke competition, best dressed adults (male and female) and best dressed toddler (male and female) competitions. Extremely attractive cash prizes to be won. Also prepare to buss yuh belly laughing with 45 mins of hardcore comedy from Learie Joseph. And lots more!!!!

9. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE THANKSGIVING BOX?

A specially marked box has been placed in the sanctuary for you to put your anonymous monetary Thanksgiving ‘seed.’ This seed is your thanksgiving offering to God. The cost of your ticket covers only part of the expenses for the day’s event as it has been subsidized. This cost is separate to your personal thanksgiving offering to God. This seed represents your gratitude to God for what He has done in your life and is the basis by which you will be blessed.

10. I WOULD LIKE TO HELP. HOW CAN I BECOME A SPONSOR FOR THIS EVENT?

Sponsors are persons who decide to use their thanksgiving seed to help offset some of the expenses for the event. Please request a sponsorship letter from the information desk for more details on the budget and our unique 7 Levels of Praise tier system of sponsorship.
