Gathering The Holy Spirit calls us together as the people of God. Welcome to worship at Incarnation Lutheran Church! As we gather in this hour of worship in the very presence of our Lord, we invite you to join with us in singing the liturgy and the hymns, to listen to the words of the proclamation of the gospel through the sermon, and to receive the forgiveness of sin and strength to serve others through the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Children are welcome! We believe they enhance the gathering of the Kingdom of God for us; however, if you would feel more comfortable, a nursery is provided in the CDC building if needed. We encourage parents to teach your children how to worship by helping them follow the order of worship in the bulletin. We ask that all electronic devices be silenced during this time of worship. This is to allow you and all to worship reverently. Again, welcome to worship! GATHER IN THE COLUMBARIUM Litany is found on the insert VOLUNTARY CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS Blessed be the holy Trinity, one God, healer of our every ill, source of unending mercy. Amen. Embraced in enduring grace and good hope, let us turn again to God, confessing the truth about ourselves. Silence is kept for reflection. Merciful God, we come before you, beloved but broken. We have not always treated others as we would want them to treat us. We have not always called out injustice and abuse. We have not always been kind to ourselves. We have not always taken care of the world we share with other living creatures. Remind us of who we are, beloved children bathed in your love. Renew us by your Spirit to live as your holy people, bringing healing to the brokenness around us. Lutheran Church of the Incarnation Service of Holy Communion All Saints Sunday November 3, 2019

NICENE CREEDWe believe in one God,

the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth,of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,eternally begotten of the Father,God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,begotten, not made,of one Being with the Father;through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation

he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Maryand became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose againin accordance with the scriptures;he ascended into heavenand is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.We look for the resurrection of the dead,

and the life of the world to come. Amen.

INVITATION TO COMMUNION God keeps adding places to the table.

Come to the banquet that has no end!

The assembly is seated. All are welcome to join in communion, trusting that Christ promises to be truly present. Whole wheat communion bread is served. Gluten-free wafers are available upon request. Red communion wine is served: the first cup is a common cup (for drinking from) and the second cup is for intinction (dipping the bread). Those unable to partake of both elements are assured that the Church affirms our Lord’s full presence in, with, and under each element alone. Those who choose not to receive Communion are welcome to come forward to the altar railing for a blessing. Following the singing of The Lord’s Prayer, the congregation sits and sings together “Lamb of God.”  during that time all communion assistants will come forward and commune and proceed to their respective places.  When all are in place and the singing of “The Lamb of God” is complete, ushers will direct congregants forward to receive communion.  Those physically unable to come forward, please indicate this to an usher who will let the pastor know to bring communion to you.  After the congregation has communed, the lay worship assistant, choir, organist and pastor will commune.

When giving the bread and cup, the communion ministers say: The body of Christ, given for you. The blood of Christ shed for you. Amen.
