FIFTY AND FUN - will be having a Fish and Oyster Fry on Thursday, February 13, 2020. Everyone is invited. To help defray cost of the oysters and fish, will be asking for a donation of $7.00 per person.

You can bring your favorite dessert or side dish to share. Serving will begin at 6:00.

FUNDAY ON SUNDAY Ignite(12th – 6th) and Spark(PreK-5th) will have a Funday on Sunday on February 9 following second service. The groups will go to Century Lanes @ 3401 John Stockbauer for bowling, food, fun and fellowship. Please sign up in the High School Sun-day School Room. We need a count to reserve the lanes. CONFIRMATION CLASSES Confirming your faith. All 7th - 8th graders. Confirmation will be held on Wednesdays nights from 6-7pm in the church office starting February 5th. This is for all 7th -8th graders wishing to be confirmed. Please see Pastor Jim for details.

Dear Members of First English Lutheran Church, Golden Crescent Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) would like to offer their gratitude to the members of First English Lutheran Church and its Board of Social Concerns and the Board of Congregational Life for hosting this year’s CASA Children’s Christmas party. First English Lutheran Church has been a longtime supporter of this party, providing many of the children’s gifts, the party’s food and drink, and the space to prepare gifts for over 400 children! This party grows in number every year and FELC has generously provided the means to meet each year’s challenge. On behalf of us all - volunteers, board and staff at Golden Crescent CASA, thank you for your support of CASA’s mission! Regina May, CASA Develop.

I want to thank Pastor Jim for coming to see me at PAM Rehabilitation after my fall. I also want to thank my friends for sending Christmas and get well cards. I really appreciate everyone for thinking of me. Thank you, Mary Evelyn Hillmer.

Thank you to all the Good Cheer Ladies who came out on probably the coldest and rainiest day of the year, bringing cookies and filling our Christmas Goodie bags. We drove all over Victoria and surrounding communities spreading JOY with visits to our 26 FELC members. A special thank you to Alice Childress for her encouragement and help coordinating the visits and to Margaret Dentler for mailing all the postcards to the Good Cheer members and providing a list of our church members to visit. A special thanks also to Beverly Spies, Bonnie Pearson, Dee Harper, Doris Wuensche, Gail Norris, Geralene Schulte, Karen Belk, Sandy Muegge and Scarlet Swoboda. It was an honor to help out this year, as Altha Maxey has chaired this wonderful Good Cheer tradition for years. I miss our sweet Altha, and we have a big void to fill without her love and guidance. How would you like to have a bible study at your fingertips daily? FELC Board of Education has purchased access for every member of our church to use Right Now Media. This online video bible study will equip families, children, women and men with resources to inspire their faith every day of the week. Some of the bible studies include: Studies on marriage, parenting, books of the bible, teens and small groups. the children of CASA. Your gifts were so appreciated, and what an organized and dependable group you are. We had 75

names on our tree this year, and everyone was so generous in their giving and timely with the return of the gifts. THANK YOU!! The party in Hiller Activity Center was enjoyed by all. A BIG THANK YOU TO RANDY MUEGGE for planning and buying all the food and the BOCL and BOSC for preparing and serving the meal for the Christmas Party.
