24 Hour Power can be Costly and Inefficient

24 Hour power Power from a diesel generator can sometimes be costly, noisy and environmentally unfriendly. Typically, the same diesel generator providing high power loads during the day on site, also provides power for much lower loads at night.

As a result, the diesel generator is operating inefficiently overnight and many litres of diesel are consumed unnecessarily. Connecting a Cygnus® HPG to a diesel generator for sites with variable power requirements, ensures the diesel generator only runs when demand is high.

Cygnus® HPG detects when load is low and turns off the diesel generator, seamlessly transferring load to its internal energy storage bank. When a higher load is detected, the generator is automatically started, transferring load to the diesel generator and using excess capacity to recharge the storage of Cygnus® HPG.

Remote Communications Software

Track, control and manage Cygnus® HPGs anywhere in the world with ease from any internet enabled device. Accurate carbon, performance and fuel saving data can be accessed through the reporting functionality of Firefly’s Remote Communications Software. Clients can obtain reports of actual savings delivered on a site by site basis.

Training and Technical Support

Firefly provide a comprehensive range of service support packages. Following the initial installation training programme, optional remote data monitoring and a 24 hour telephone support service is available. Additional chargeable services include a 24 hour emergency call out which is available if the problem cannot be resolved remotely. Firefly can also provide logistics, installation, annual servicing and on-site warranty support. Firefly’s team of experienced staff are also able to advise your sales team through the process of site auditing, specifying of equipment, installation and ongoing performance management.

Studer Xtender enables Cygnus® HPGs to deliver seamless management of all power source inputs - solar, grid, wind and diesel generators and are proven to deliver in the harshest of environments.

The surge capacity of three times continuous output ensures that Cygnus® Four HPG can continue to deliver power whilst the external diesel generator starts up to support a higher load.

OPzV Batteries retain a longer service life due to their increased durability under deep cyclic use conditions, ideal for demanding applications requiring a high number of discharges. Unique to OPzV Batteries is the incorporation of tubular plate technology providing optimum high-cycle stability. Due to innovative Gel-technology, OPzV Batteries are maintenance-free, retaining H2O content.

Rental Specification

Cygnus® Four incorporates all the features of a premium rental machine, with an operating temperature range of -5 to +450C, IP65 rating and Zintec steel canopy, Cygnus® Four is built to endure the harshest environments. Multiple options for lifting and positioning including fork pockets, single and dual point lifting beam & lift and drag skid make light work for logistics teams. Maintenance or servicing is equally simple via twin access service doors to three sides and a one piece lift canopy providing flexibility of installation. In addition to hard wired AC in and out busbars, Cygnus Four HPG incorporates heavy-duty Mennekes CEE Form sockets for quick and easy connection, ensuring maximum flexibility on site.

LCD Control Panel

The integrated LCD Control Panel logs all system activity and performance from power output to storage and charging as well as solar input. Data is stored to an internal removable SD card. Cygnus® One is the most compact model in the Cygnus® range and is available with either 1.2, 2.4 or 3.5kVA output and 6kWh of usable energy storage (60% D.o.D).

Built to rental specification it’s a durable, powerful system ideally suited to use with diesel generator sets up to 15kVA or as a stand alone system linked to a renewable energy source such as solar PV or wind turbine. As with all the range, Cygnus® One boasts a long list of standard features and options to ensure it can be used in a wide variety of applications and stands up to the toughest of environments.
