UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Hello, Door Village United Methodist Church!
My name is Bob Denney and my wife’s name is Donna. We
will soon be married for forty years. We will be serving your church
beginning in July. I say “we” because my wife and I are a team and
have been in ministry for almost 30 years. Along the way, we have
raised three children named Sheila, Heather, and Clay. All three of
our kids love the Lord which blesses our hearts. We also have three
grandkids. Erica is 7 years old, Jordon 4, and Evangeline 6 weeks.
Recently, I was able to baptize Erica which makes Grandpa very
proud.
I am also a journeyman electrician which helped me pay for
schooling. I did not accept Christ until my mid-twenties, but it has
been a wonderful journey. I have a Master of Ministry from Indiana
Wesleyan and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary.
I have also served an apprenticeship under a Senior Pastor for three
years, served as a Youth Pastor, and served as a Chaplain at
Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. My wife and I have directed
several church youth camps and have plenty of hands-on
experience serving the Lord and His people. I am looking forward to
joining your church and its activities. I also look forward to serving in
and around the community.
Donna and I have served in Swayzee, Indiana for seven years
now and God has blessed our ministry. We have been able to lead
many people in and around the church to the Lord. We will be
leaving many friends. Like your current pastor, Chris, this is a sad
period for us, yet an exciting one as well.
I’m told there is a Fair taking place the week we move in. I
also hear the church makes wonderful beef and noodles. This is
great! We will be able to join in, meet you and lots of other people,
and enjoy some beef and noodles (I love them!). More than
anything, I’m looking forward to the fun of ministry with you.
I hear there will be a Meet & Greet on July 1. We would love
to meet you then so we can begin to learn your names and a little
bit about you. Please forgive me in advance if I get your name
wrong, but I will try my best. We will also learn to get used to Central
Time. There will be so many things to learn, and any help would be
appreciated.
Again, Hello to Door Village United Methodist Church. We are
really looking forward to joining your church, its activities, and serving
in and around the community.
2017 Chancel Choir Thank you to all our choir members for their
commitment and dedication. The chancel
choir is a long, rich tradition that we are
fortunate to be able to continue at Door
Village. We appreciate your contribution of
time and talent to our worship service. The
choir is currently on their summer break and
will resume in the fall.
