A New York State traffic law'regarding sehool busses, misun-derstood by some motorists, re-quires that an auto driver bringhis machine to a complete stopwhen encountering a school busreceiving or disehnrcing passen-gers.

The law applies to traffic mov-ing in both directions, whetherovertaking or meeting busses.School vehicles are readily identi-fied by "School Bun" signs frontand rear and by flashing red sig-nal lights when stopped for pass-engers. Drivers are to proceedonly when busses resume motionor when signalled to do so by busoperators.
