Dear Residents,

Welcome to our first online edition of the Fall 2010 Recreation Department Brochure.

We are trying to explore the benefits of utilizing the internet over print this season. Not only

is this a more economical way of informing our residents of upcoming events, it is better for

our environment.

With the dog days of summer behind us and the cool crisp air of autumn upon us, I en-

courage our residents to take advantage of some of the outdoor activities our staff is offering.

For instance, adults can try our walking club, enter the grilling competition or have the kids

enter our lacrosse program or skateboard competition. For those of you that enjoy cardio

programs, I encourage you to try the Zumba Fitness classes or Boot Camp for Mom. Perhaps

it’s a little competition that gets you motivated to exercise. Our Recreation Department is

offering a “biggest loser” class where the participant with the most weight loss will win a prize.

Our friendly, creative staff has also been busy planning day trips to see Toy Story and

the King Tut Exhibit. For those of you that enjoy a good murder mystery, I encourage you to

participate in the role-playing Downtown Mystery Weekend starting October 15.

Whatever your pleasure, please take the time to read this brochure. I am sure with the qual-

ity and variety of programs being offered you will find something of interest to you and, as al-

ways, I hope you have the opportunity to visit of our downtown riverfront, beaches and parks

this beautiful autumn season.

Sincerely,

Sean M. Walter
