Experiment Overview

Several Marketing Department faculty members are involved in experimental research and need subjects to participate in research studies. Participation in one of these studies will typically require a commitment of approximately 50 minutes outside class time. You will need to schedule an appointment to participate in the lab studies and some studies you may have the option to participate online. Sign-ups for the experiments are on a first-come, first served basis, and not everyone can be accommodated in each study. Earlier studies are sometimes seeking participants with definite characteristics or behaviors. Later studies typically are open to everyone to participate.

1. Studies To earn full participation credit for experiments you must participate in 2 studies. The two studies may take place in a lab or be online .  The online studies you can complete anywhere that has Internet access. The lab studies will take place in SSW2601 and you must complete this study in the lab.

TO PARTICIPATE IN STUDIES YOU MUST FIRST COMPLETE THE ONLINE PRE-STUDY.

2. Announcements

You should receive an email from the experiment system after the add/drop date.  Remember to KEEP your experiment identity code all semester as you are anonymous to the test administrators and only the experiment code will transfer credit. The lab instructors and the MKTG 370 Instructor do NOT know your code. PLEASE DIRECT ALL QUESTIONS/INQUIRIES to: hhonea@mail.sdsu.edu  (not your 370 instructor) with the subject: "370 Experiment."

You will also receive an email in advance of lab studies and the day of online studies to announce they are open.

Open your email from Marketing Experiment System

Your email will provide a user id and a password.It will also tell you your Identity code—you will need this code to

get credit for your experiment participation. DO NOT USE THE CODES IN THIS PRESENTATION TO LOGIN.

You must have this code when you participate in

studies.

Enter your red id

6. Online Sign-up/Participate

Online StudyTo participate click the link to the study and

complete the study.

BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THE LAB STUDIES.

Click complete survey now

Provide response, when you complete the survey window will close.

FOR THE PRE-STUDY IT WILL SAY THAT YOUR RESPONSES WERE

7. Lab Sign-up

Lab Study(to participate attend ssw2601 at the

appropriate date/time)

Click Sign-Up

Select Pretest

Select “View Time Slots”

Sign up by clicking the appropriate button

You will receive a confirmation

If you wish to cancel a registration

Go to “My Schedule”and click cancel

8. Change your email

If you need to change you email address
