Bauer Media Group

Time Inc. is an American New York-based publishing company. It publishes over 90 magazines, most notably its namesake, Time. It also owns the UK magazine house Time Inc. UK, whose major titles include Kerrang! (a music magazine with the same age range and unconventional style as my target audience), Country Life, Q magazine (a music magazine with the same target audience as mine therefore it would be a good company to advertise a new mainstream magazine like mine). They have multiple digital platforms (TV programmes and radio stations) which would be great for my technologically influenced target audience, to access this media efficiently on as many platforms as possible. Bauer Media Group may want an unconventional music magazine with alternative music genres (such as Kerrang! whose genre is heavy metal/rock) and therefore accept my alternative approach but otherwise approaching Bauer media could be unconventional for my magazine, due to their experience in music magazines of a mainstream layout and approach ( e.g Q magazine).

Time Inc. UK is a consumer magazine and digital publisher in the United Kingdom, with a large portfolio selling over 350 million copies each year. They publish NME (National Music Express) magazine which is a music magazine with the same age range target audience as my magazine. Although the genre of NME is different to the genre of my music magazine, I think that Time Inc. would be a great company to publish my magazine, as they could take an unconventional approach to my magazine, to bring in extra readers and broaden their horizons on different genres. However, they might not be looking for a new genre of music magazine therefore they wouldn’t be interested in publishing my pop/hip-hop magazine. But as they are experienced in appealing to a similar age range to my magazine, I believe it would be successful to publish via Time Inc. Also, Time Inc. is merged with Warner communications and owns TV programmes (e.g. Cartoon Network, E! ) that can distribute to similar but wider target audience appealing to both genders and all ethnicities, being greatly beneficial to my magazine.
