INTRODUCTION• The sole purpose of a film poster is to advertise an

upcoming film; through letting audiences know that a new film is due for release, which raises awareness and in turn aims to generate hype.

• A film poster provides a range of information on an upcoming film such as; the name of the film, the release date, the stars/actors and actresses who are in the film and the BBFC certification. This information both attracts a viewer; through naming the stars who are popular and well known, as well as a catchy film title, and at the same time informs them of vital information they may want to know about the film such as the release date and the certification- which will determine suitability, in such cases as an adult wanting to take a child to see a film.

• It is not only the written parts of the poster which provide information for the viewer. The photos and graphics of the poster can suggest a particular genre and narrative that the film will follow which is an insight to what the film may be about/along the lines of and therefore helps them to decide whether this film is something they may be interested in seeing.

• In accordance to this question I will be discussing about my 5 minute short film and as well as its ancillaries that included it's poster and magazine review.

• To make my film poster I took reference from existing media texts poster such as "A Walk To Remember“, “P.s I Love You" and "Sweet November

Each and every poster depicts it’s own uniqueness and individuality.

COLORS• The use of colors plays a very important part in every

poster and sometimes it tend to show the meaning of the film as well.

• As it can be seen that in my film poster I have tend to keep it simple and not have played with colors a lot because it is a romantic drama and I did not intended to give it a funky look.

• My film poster is half black and white and half colored which tends to relate to the main theme of my film.

• My film is about two lovers who are about to get engaged but something else was written in their fate. Scarlett looses her vision in an accident and both Eric and Scarlett’s life’s are changed forever. So in accordance to this concept I have shown in the poster that Scarletts life is a colorless and Eric is fine but both look sad.

• This unique feature in my poster will attract my target audience and they will be forced to think that why does Scarlett’s life is like that. In general it also shows that people will think that something bad will happen to Scarlett.

KEY CHARACTERS

• There are only three characters in my film Eric, Scarlett and Hazel. Hazel is a supporting character but plays a major role in parting ways of Eric and Scarlett. That is why I didn’t included her picture in poster.

• Moreover my both male and female protagonist are shown in the poster and both seems to be sad and disappointed. This depicts that they both are in love and are parted away from each other due to some mishap.

BACKGROUND• Many scenes of my film are shot in park and

that’s why I decided to use it for background picture of poster. This adds a fresh and nice to overall poster.

TEXT COLOR/FONT

• The font of the main title of the film is kept the same as it is in the starting of film. And as it is a romantic drama film so I had used the light pink and white font color to make it appear more appealing on the poster.

• Moreover in almost all of the Hollywood films including the the ones that are of Warner Bros have their billing box at the bottom of the poster. I have also tried to do same and put my font thin and tight.

MAGAZINE REVIEW

I made this magazine review quiet simple because it is a romantic drama film and from the beginning I did not wanted to it to be funky. Its simple and attractive with two big sized pictures of my lead actors. Moreover the star ratings and details about production also provide audience with handsome amount of information about the film.
