Embedded Excel
Dynamic links between Causeway Estimating and Excel spreadsheets allow any formulae changes in Excel to automatically update the estimate. This enables complex calculations to be carried out in Excel, with links to estimate items or resource quantities, for cost planning. Estimates can have one or many Excel spreadsheets and these can be linked to individual items or any combination of item/spreadsheet.
Enquiries & Comparisons
In Causeway Estimating enquiries are held within, and dynamically linked to, the estimate with the ability to compare an unlimited number of vendors. Sub-contractor and supplier enquiries can be sent out as hard copy or electronically with full comparisons including visibility of all adjustments. Separate enquiries for sub-contractors and suppliers link to vendor database to provide standard bill-type packages for sub-contractors and materials lists for suppliers.
Contractor Valuations
The Excel-like functionality of the Contractor Valuations module enables fast production of client, internal and sub-contractor liability valuations, with automatic production of anticipated cost information to support monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR). Client valuations for cash flow, internal valuations for cost predictions and sub-contractor liability valuations can all be used to assist in the preparation of CVRs.
To support the work of surveyors, data can be imported directly from Estimating, enabling users to take advantage of the functionality of Excel while working with full estimating data. Full rate build-ups and resources are imported and can be copied for use in variations. Variations can be added as a Variation summary bill or as individual variation Bills against contract sections - and can be priced from first principles or by lump sums.
