The area of natural interest: “L’Estany d’Ivars i Vila-sana”

Hi!We are 10 years old

students in Mare de Déu de l’Horta school.

Today we are going to visit a lake near our

school: “L’Estany d’Ivars i Vila-sana”.

Ivars and Vila-sana’s lake has a surface area of 126

ha.

It is the biggest lake in the inner region of

Catalonia. It contains a wide and important biological variety.

The fauna of the lake it’s its main

wealth. Species of great interest can be found there, especially birds.

The studies about ecological

monitoring have confirmed the

existence of 241 species of

vertebrates

29 of vertebrates

are mammals, 201 are birds, 6 reptiles, 5

amphibian and 5 fish. 

I like observatories for

birds’ observation… 

It’s lunch time!!

In the area there are resting areas with wooden tables and

benches.

I’m hungry!!!

It’s time to continue

with the visit.

We have had a very nice time in the Estany

d’Ivars i Vila-sana.

Let’s go back to the school!!
