g i v e w i t h g r e a t a c c u r a c y t h e same i n d i c a t i o n s in a g i v e n

s i t u a t i o n .

The i n v e n t i o n has f o r i t s o b j e c t to c o u n t e r a c t

t h e n e g a t i v e i n f l u e n c e of s a i d b i o l o g i c a l l y a c t i v e f i e l d s

on l i v i n g o r g a n i s m s and p r o v i d e s f o r t h i s p u r p o s e a d e v i c e

f o r n e u t r a l i z i n g s u c h f i e l d s , s a i d d e v i c e c o m p r i s i n g a n

e l e c t r i c a l l y c o n d u c t i v e s t r i p or w i r e h a v i n g an e a r t h

c o n n e c t i o n a t t h e m i d d l e , s a i d s t r i p or w i r e b e i n g l o c a t e d

to p r o v i d e p o s i t i o n i n g m e a n s f o r a s u b s t a n t i a l l y h o r i z o n t a l

d i s p o s i t i o n of t h e p l a n e of t h e r i n g . Ve ry u s e f u l i s t h e

v a r i a n t i n w h i c h t h e p o s i t i o n i n g means a r e f o r m e d by a

g r o u n d p i n f a s t e n e d to t h e e a r t h c o n n e c t i o n , w h i c h p i n h a s

to be i n s e r t e d i n t o t he g r o u n d in a p o s i t i o n s u b s t a n t i a l l y

p e r p e n d i c u l a r to t he p l a n e of t h e r i n g .

I t may be a d v a n t a g e o u s when t h e d e v i c e e m b o d y i n g

t h e i n v e n t i o n can be c a r r i e d on t h e b o d y . Fo r t h i s p u r p o s e i t may be p r o v i d e d w i t h a c o n d u c t i v e c a r r y i n g c h a i n c o u p l e d

w i t h t h e e a r t h c o n n e c t i o n . T h i s c a r r y i n g c h a i n s h o u l d b e

in c o n t a c t w i t h t h e s k i n . In t h i s r e s p e c t i t i s n o t e d t h a t

e v e n s l i g h t c o n d u c t i v i t y i s s u f f i c i e n t in v i e w of t h e

e x t r e m e l y low e l e c t r i c c u r r e n t s t r e n g t h i n v o l v e d , w h i c h h a s

b e e n known f o r a l o n g t i m e f r o m l i t e r a t u r e r e l a t i n g to t h e

d i v i n i n g - r o d . From p r a c t i c a l e x p e r i e n c e i t h a s b e e n f o u n d

t h a t e v e n p o o r l y c o n d u c t i v e r u b b e r s o l e s h a v e a c o n d u c t i v e

p o w e r w h i c h i s s u f f i c i e n t f o r s a t i s f a c t o r y o p e r a t i o n of t h e

d e v i c e e m b o d y i n g t h e i n v e n t i o n . I t s h o u l d be n o t e d t h a t a

d e v i c e e m b o d y i n g t h e i n v e n t i o n c a r r i e d a r o u n d t h e n e c k w i l l

o c c u p y a more or l e s s v e r t i c a l p o s i t i o n so t h a t no o p t i m u m

r e s u l t s a r e e n s u r e d . In t h i s r e g a r d , i t i s p r e f e r r e d t o

c a r r y t h e d e v i c e in a s u b s t a n t i a l l y h o r i z o n t a l p o s i t i o n o n

t h e body p a r t i c u l a r l y s u i t a b l e t h e r e t o a r e t h e s h o u l d e r s

and t h e f e e t .

Ve ry s a t i s f a c t o r y r e s u l t s h a v e b e e n o b t a i n e d

w i t h a d e v i c e in w h i c h t h e s u r f a c e s of t h e e n d s of t h e s t r i p

or w i r e a r e f l a t and s u b s t a n t i a l l y c o i n c i d e w i t h t h e p l a n e

of s y m m e t r y o f t h e r i n g .

In o r d e r to a d a p t t h e d e v i c e to t h e p u r p o s e

a i m e d a t and in p a r t i c u l a r to a v o i d u n n e c e s s a r i l y l a r g e

d i m e n s i o n s i t i s p r e f e r r e d to c h o o s e t h e s u r f a c e e n c l o s e d

by t h e r i n g on t h e b a s i s of t h e r a d i u s of t h e d e s c r i b e d

a c t i v e z o n e .
