Contrast between “Godzilla 2014” and “Pacific Rim” For the past few decades, people spend their money in a cinema for an adventure or action film, our eyes are charmed by weapons of destruction, and the explosions, alien invasion, monster fights and that are presented. Action movies, as indicated in the name is filled with action, spectacle, and fervent. Audiences tend to sit on the edge of their seats when it comes to this type of genre. For example, ‘Pacific Rim (2013)’ and ‘Godzilla (2014)’, are related with action, adventures and sci-fi film which distributed by Warner Bros. Yet, both films have their own different storyline, creatures, moral values and achievements. First and foremost, ‘Godzilla (2014)’, which directed by Gareth Edwards was schemed about the Janjira nuclear plant which located at Japan was mysteriously destroyed with most hands lost including supervisor Joe Brody's colleague and wife, Sandra in year 1999. After fears later, Joe's son, Ford who is a US Navy ordnance disposal officer, went to Japan to help his father who tried to search for the truth of the incident. Therefore, father and son started discover the disaster's secret cause of the incident. Unfortunately they found a terrible threat to all of Humanity. Against this disaster, the only hope for the world may be the King of the Monsters, Godzilla will be great even as Humanity struggles to understand the devastating ally they have. On the contrary, In ‘Pacific Rim’, which directed by Guillermo Del Toro was planned about an amphibious sea creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the Pacific Ocean, a war began that would take over millions of lives and consume humanity's resources To defeat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was invented: massive robots, called as Jaegers, which are controlled by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge at the same time. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly unprotected in the face of the ruthless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hungnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand for mankind's last hope against the mounting revelation.

Moreover, Godzilla is a 164,000-tonnes gigantic sea creature which reborn from japan sea. It is also named as Argenitosaurus, which is the largest dinosaur to ever on the Earth. Because of the mutation, atomic radiation is presented as the explanation for his gigantic size and unique powers specifically. The design of Godzilla is composed by a mixture of various species of dinosaurs. In his latest incarnation, the dorsal fins are much larger, sharper and more aggressive. The colours also changed from white to dark green. On the other hand, Kaiju is a 3000-ton highly toxic amphibious creatures which originates from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean called “The Breach”. In designing Kaijus, the director is inspired by ancient kaijus. Overall, the Precursors improved the Kaiju, each becoming more powerful than the previous, possessed unique biological weaponry like electromagnetic discharges.

Next, Moral values also showed in the main character of both films. Aaron Taylor-Johnson who act as Ford Brody in ‘Godzilla (2014)’. In the story, moral value you can learned is Ford Brody is cooperate with Godzilla to fight kaijus for world peace. For example, Godzilla kill the baby kaiju which is the only egg that Ford and his men did not destroyed for saving Ford’s life .With the female kaiju's EMP ability no longer being in effect, Ford got the boat working but was too injured to move. Not long afterward, he was saved by a helicopter and was airlifted out as the bomb exploded

harmlessly out at sea. While, Charlie Hunnam who act as Raleigh Becket in ‘Pacific Rim’. Moral value you can find in Raleigh is a brave to face problem persons. For example, during a break of the Anti-Kaiju Wall, Raleigh and Pentecost discuss Raleigh's possible return to the Jaeger Program. Reluctant, Raleigh instructs Pentecost's request and takes him aside. Pentecost told Raleigh that he's looking for another pilot to continue the fight against the Kaiju. Raleigh willing to drift Jaeger with another person after Pentecost convince Raleigh to follow him to the Shatterdome in Hong Kong.

Last but not least, these two movies have awarded many different of awards in this years. In year 2014, ‘Godzilla (2014)’ film is Best Summer 2014 Blockbuster Trailer, Best International Poster, Best Summer 2014 Blockbuster TV Spot, and Best Summer 2014 Blockbuster Poster in 15th Golden Trailer Awards. Also, Alexandre Desplat who is the ‘Godzilla (2014)’ film composer achieved Film Composer of the Year in World Soundtrack Academy. On the other hand, ‘Pacific Rim’ won Outstanding Achievement, Animated Effects in a Live Action Production in Annie Award and awarded Best Horror/Sci-Fi Film in Las Vegas Film Critics Society.John Knoll awarded the Best Visual Effects in Hollywood Film Awards. As a conclusion, ‘Godzilla(2014)’ won more than ‘Pacific Rim’.

In conclusion, action movies have common traits that made them successful blockbusters. Both ‘Godzilla (2014)’ and ‘Pacific Rim’ share many differences. Action Movies provides audiences with electrifying excitement, presents us a hero to look up to, and it’s easy to understand by all viewers. Action movies likewise to paint our lives with colourful colour so that we aren't living with boredom world.
