DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK

At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Blanca

was located near latitude 29.0 North, longitude 114.1 West. The

post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north near 12 mph (19

km/h)and this motion is expected to continue today.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.

The post-tropical cyclone is forecast to dissipate later today.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1005 mb (29.68 inches).

HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND

RAINFALL: The post-tropical low could still produce additional

rainfall accumulations of 1 to 3 inches over parts of the central

and northern Baja California peninsula. Light to moderate rainfall

amounts associated with this low will also begin to increase over

portions of the southwestern United states through Tuesday.
