The National Platform of the Kyrgyz Republic for Disaster Risk Reduction is a mechanism of the Interdepartmental Commission for CD aimed to assist in coordination of activities of state bodies, international, non-governmental organizations and civil society in the field of disaster risk reduction.

On May 17, 2013 in Almaty city the Intergovernmental Agreement on establishment of the Center of Emergency and Disaster Risk Reduction in the Central Asian region was signed by Emergency Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic.

• Creation of Regional Platform on disaster risks’ reduction and adoption of necessary fundamental documents of regional character.

• Creation of Regional Scientific and Technical Council on ES, including international and national experts in the field of seismic, ecological, fire, radiation, industrial, medical, educational, hydro-meteorological and other spheres of safety on the basis of Central Asian Center of Geosciences;

• Creation of regional system of early warning through improvement of mechanism of technical coordination of national crisis (situation) centers and systems of early warning;

• Use capacities of ES and disaster risks’ reduction Center in Almaty to strengthen the regional cooperation;

• Creation of Regional Platform on disaster risks’ reduction and adoption of necessary fundamental documents of regional character.

1.To develop a Special ESCAP Program for supporting of regional cooperation in CA;2.To use capacities of ES and disaster risks’ reduction Center in Almaty to strengthen the regional cooperation;3.To consider the opportunity of using a Bishkek methodological center for training of specialist of Asian countries with the assistance of ESCAP;4.To assist in holding of regular high-level coordination meetings of National Platforms on disaster risks’ reduction with participation of international donor community and non-government organizations in the frames of annual Ministerial conferences of Central Asia and Afghanistan on Disaster Risks’ Reduction;

5.To organize exchange of experience of CA National Platforms in creation and operation of regional DRR platforms with the regional Platforms of South-East Asia;6. Carrying out an exchange of experience between the Center for an emergency and decrease in risk of natural disasters in the cities of Almaty, Bishkek with the advanced Centers of South East Asia to increase potential of our centers.7. Organization of the separate meeting for Central Asia on 70 – sessions of ESCAP of the in 2014.8. To include into the two-year ESCAP strategy for 2014-2015 the issues of assistance in implementation of above-listed aspects.
