Greetings and Happy New Year!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
Have you made your resolutions for the New Year? I typi-
cally do not make resolutions because quite honestly (like
many of us), I just can’t stick to them! I try so hard like
wanting to lose weight, journaling more, keeping the house nice and tidy and

I know we’ll have some “tweaking” to do, but I was so excited and I felt it was at a pretty
good stage to share so......please check us out at the link above. You will love being able
to access all of this information right at your fingertips!
There will be a survey for you to fill out at our training on the 23rd. Everyone will have
the opportunity to make suggestions as to what you would like to see on the site and
how it can help you with programs, information and publicity for your units.

The Mission Team met Saturday, December 12, 2015. The event
was held at Spring Lake UMC in Sebring. New officers and coor-
dinators were able to meet with the team and exchange information
for the upcoming year.
The Spring Lake UMW Unit hosted the meeting and provided
wonderful decorations and food for the team. Although they are a
small unit they have very big hearts, making us all feel special for a
day, even providing us with a cook book of the food we ate! Ku-
dos to president Jewell Weaver and her team for their hospitality!
After lunch there was a silent auction consisting of items that we
all brought. Over $200 was raised for missions. Ora Jean Henry
brought a quilt that her niece made out of all the tea shirts Jean had
over the years commemorating different life events. President Shel-
ley made special ornaments filled with the ingredients for hot co-
coa for everyone as seen below!

A Special New Year’s Greeting to All!
A special message to all the Secretaries of the District. I will be going
off as Secretary of the District and want to say how special it has been for me to serve the District as Secretary for the past four years. You have made my job very enjoyable.
A special thanks to the District Officers whom I have served with. As most of your know I have had a battle with lymphoma this past year and appreciate all your thoughts, prayers, and many cards. My treat-
ments have ended and I am feeling much better and hope to serve you all in the coming year.
I will be taking on a new challenge for the next two years as Member-ship, Nurture& Outreach Coordinator. I will try to visit each unit in the coming year. I want to be available to you and help in any way I can to keep this South West District the very best in the Conference.

Education for Mission, Leadership Develop-
ment, Nurturing for Community, Social Action
and Spiritual Growth
PLAN I – 5 Books Per Year, One book from
each category
PLAN II – 10 Books Per Year, Two from each
category
PLAN III – 15 Books Per Year, Two from each
category plus five additional books from any cat-
egory
PLAN IV – 20 Books Per Year, Two from each
category plus 10 additional books from any cat-
egory
Plan I is to include regular reading of response
magazine. Plans II, III and IV are to include reg-
ular reading of response and New World Out-
look magazines.
All Plan selections can be from the 2011-2016
reading lists if not included in previous reports,
including Youth titles.
