5 modules In close cooperation with Wageningen University, Wageningen Academy offers a distance learning course Plant pathology and entomology consisting of 5 modules: • Phytopathology (incl. bacteria) (M1).• Nematology (M2).• Entomology (M3).• Virology (M4).• Extra module General terms.
The modules have been developed by the Laboratories of Wageningen University in cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Society of Plant Pathology (KNPV) and the Foundation Willie Commelin Scholten for Phytopathology (WCS). The modules have been successfully followed by a broad audience from more than twenty different countries and are well-rated.
Learning objectives The distance learning course Plant pathology and entomology provides you with a concise overview of basic concepts and principles in the biology of plant pathogens and pests, including morphology, reproduction, detection and spread.
Target group Professionals in plant breeding and related companies and research institutes. Knowledge at BSc level of plant sciences or biology is assumed.
Materials The contents of this course are written by experts of Wageningen University. All modules are available through internet and consist of built-in readers which contain all information supported by interactive Q&A tests.
Supervision and Certificate Supervision is by email consultation. A certificate with the relevant study credits (ECTS) is issued after completing a written exam in Wageningen, The Netherlands. The exam (and thereby certificate) is optional.
