JEM Contracting, LLC is owned and operated by Mr. Jeordie Mason. The firm is located in Macon, MS and offers services that include dirt work, foundation, concrete, and building erection. The firm has been in business for 13 years, a DBE for one year and is HubZone and MDA certified. JEM Contracting, LLC considers foundation and concrete work to be the best of their capabilities along with providing exceptional customer service. One pillar to a successful business is experience. Experience can help stabilize a business because it is seated in acquired knowledge and a skill sets in applied areas. Mr. Mason has 17 years of experience in managing and administering state and federally funded projects for agencies included but not limited to the U.S. Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, Air force, and GSA. Also, JEM Contracting, LLC has partnered with Lackeyes Electrical, McClain Plumbing as well as Environmental Evaluation and Control on various projects around the state (Macon, MS Columbus, MS Starkville, Europa, and Maben, MS). Currently, the firm is in the process of completing three projects which includes Noxubee County Detention Facility, Okolona Football Fieldhouse, and renovations and repairs for the MS Regional Housing Authority. Unfortunately, there is no magic solution to owning a successful small business. Thriving as a small enterprise requires hard work, determination, experience, networking, and so much more. Mr. Mason’s advice to fellow DBEs and small businesses in general is to be patient and persevere because success is a journey. For more information on this firm, please forward all correspondence to Mr. Mason at jeormason@bellsouth.net.
