Support for Drone Survey Data (.LAS files)
v5.0

Drone and Scan Data
.LAS files are a common format for lazer scan and drone survey data
- These files are often large, and very dense. Hard to load and work with
Deswik now support importing these files, and have an increasing number of tools to assist working with .LAS files
![Page 3: Deswik Software Suite v5.0: LAS file support](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022081721/55aa9c7c1a28ab9a258b4837/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Import
Add files to be imported (supports multiple files) • Automatically stitches tiles together if grid output
Select outputs to create • Points • Surface • Grid • Nominate output layers
![Page 4: Deswik Software Suite v5.0: LAS file support](https://reader035.fdocuments.net/reader035/viewer/2022081721/55aa9c7c1a28ab9a258b4837/html5/thumbnails/4.jpg)
Whoa! I don’t need all those points…
Options for filtering on import make outputs more user friendly
• Settings tab • Limit import to polygon area • Specify min distance between
points • Decimate (filter) resulting
surfaces or grids

Cons
LAS files can be brutal on your hardware

Experiment to find the best balance
Take the time to find best settings for your data and use case – filter aggressively or use larger grid sizes
The aim is to minimize number of resulting points without sacrificing required level of detail
