The Graduate A PRINCE OF PEACE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SEMI-ANNUAL ePUBLICATION FOR GRADUATES DECEMBER 2018 Hello Eagles! Believe it or not, I still consider each of you an Eagle and an important member of our community. I pray this first edition of “The Graduate” finds each of you blessed and doing well. It was humbling for me to read of your growth and successes over the past several years. College graduations, beginning of careers, marriage, and for some starting a family. I hope as you read about your fellow Eagles and alumni you recall more good than bad, more laughter than tears, and remember fondly your friends and time spent here. Our mission remains the same, developing disciples and leaders for service and success. I am proud to see many of you actively living out that mission, in service to our country, community, and Lord. May God continue to lead and bless each of you as you serve. Please allow this to serve as my personal invitation to return to campus. I would love for you to see the changes, new programs, classroom configuration adjustments and building expansion, and connect with a favorite teacher, coach or two. I would love to provide lunch for you, and just an opportunity to connect for a few minutes to reflect and also learn of your time beyond the walls of Prince of Peace. As we approach Christmas, my prayer and hope is that you will find time for the manger, and celebrate the life-changing, life-saving message of Jesus, His grace, His forgiveness, and His gift of eternal life. 2018

Hello Eagles!

There, as he did with all en-deavors, he represented the school he attended throughout his entire aca-demic career, his teammates, and his family, with perseverance and valor. In 2012, Connor attained his Eagle Rank with Scout Troop 876, in Carrollton, TX, where he was commended for demonstrating honor, maturity, and responsi-bility. ANDREW KEITH KALINKE ’17JULY 3, 1998 – JUNE 4, 2018

It is with deep sadness that we say good-bye to our friend, Andrew Keith Kalinke. Andrew left his earthly home on June 4, 2018 as a result of a car accident. Andrew, a political science major, had just finished his freshmen year at Texas A&M University. Andrew never met a stranger. His friends and family remember him for his authentic, unselfish love and strong faith. He was the second of three sons to Bob and Anne Ka-linke. Andrew wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps and become a lawyer. His dad said “He didn’t care about anything super-ficial about someone. He just loved people. His greatest characteristic was that he was not judgmental, he loved people and he loved being around them.” Jacob, Andrew’s brother, said “He taught me to be more outgoing and more carefree. I think he really pushed me to love people better and meet people where they are.” Andrew left behind a a lasting legacy of love and compassions that touched everyone he met.
