I. INTRODUCTION

Globalization is a process of idea that come up, then offered to be followed by other nations who eventually come to a point of agreement with and become guidelines for nations around the world. Then the notion of culture itself is something that will affect the level of knowledge and includes a system of ideas or ideas contained in the human mind, so that the culture is abstract.Trend of South Korean culture or commonly called the Korean Wave lately is being favored by the people in some Asian countries, and foreign. One of the Korean Wave spreader occurs because emerging boyband and girl band. Beautiful face, cool and trendy style, attractive appearance, convenient and supported music heard and supported with powerful dance that causes many teens like boyband and girl band from South Korea, such as the boy band Super Junior and girl group Girls Generation is now much-loved community as handsome-faced and multitalented.Korean Wave itself is not only happening in the culture of music itself, even south Korean dramas are also not far from the attention of todays society. Romantic love story, backed up by the players (actors and actresses) and the storyline is interesting in the appeal of the South Korean drama itself. In addition, South Korean modern dress styles are now become a trend among the people of Indonesia, its been a lot of clothing stores that sell modern clothing that becoming a trend in South Korea. Communities like these clothes because the clothes are simple models and also look good. The typical food of South Korea also concern in society, the South Korean food tends to be spicy and rich in these spices, matched with the tongue of Indonesia people, as well as kimchi, ramen noodles, bulgogi, rice cakes, fish meatballs and snacks are also typical of South Korea. Now it is no longer rare we come across a restaurant that sells unique culinary of South Korea. Even now in Indonesia also featured television ads biscuit products from South Korea with commercials from South Korean actor. With the Korean Wave, the tours in South Korea become the most desirable tourist destination for most people for now. The development of the Korean Wave in Indonesia is a manifestation of globalization in communications and cultural dimensions. If the Korean Wave is not accompanied by an appreciation of national culture, there will be a shift in cultural values of national culture becomes marginal (periphery).Among adolescents is the biggest recipient of the Korean Wave in Indonesia. In fact, adolescence is a milestone in national development. If teens do not know now already own culture, then the national culture can become extinct and replaced with a new culture that is not fully in accordance with the personality of Indonesian national origin. Therefore, the Indonesian people should be aware of the negative effects that arise as a result of the Korean Wave that indigenous Indonesian culture still has a high cultural value in the eyes of the people of Indonesia.II. THEORYTICAL FRAMEWORK

Cultural globalization refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings and values around the world in such a way as to extend and intensify social relations. This process is marked by the common consumption of cultures that have been diffused by the Internet, popular culture media, and international travel. This has added to processes of commodity exchange and colonization which have a longer history of carrying cultural meaning around the globe. The circulation of cultures enables individuals to partake in extended social relations that cross national and regional borders. The creation and expansion of such social relations is not merely observed on a material level. Cultural globalization involves the formation of shared norms and knowledge with which people associate their individual and collective cultural identities. It brings increasing interconnectedness among different populations and cultures.Globalization is reshaping how we have traditionally gone about studying the social world and human culture and a field of globalization studies is now emerging across the disciplines (Appelbaum and Robinson, 2005). These globalization studies arose around several sets of phenomena that drew researchers attention from the 1970s onwards. One was the emergence of a globalized economy involving new systems of production, finance and consumption and worldwide economic integration. A second was new transnational or global cultural patterns, practices and flows, and the idea of global culture(s). A third was global political processes, the rise of new transnational institutions, and concomitantly, the spread of global governance and authority structures of diverse sorts. A fourth was the unprecedented multidirectional movement of peoples around the world involving new patterns of transnational migration, identities and communities. Yet a fifth was new social hierarchies, forms of inequality, and relations of domination around the world and in the global system as a whole. The theory of globalization today is a field of intensive and multidisciplinary debate. Attendees are numerous, and often opposing views of the mentioned phenomena. The efforts towards defining globalization most often highlight its individual aspects. Numerous definitions emphasize economic dimensions of globalization. Removing "artificial" barriers to flow of goods, services and factors of production on the world market (as the consequence of modern development of transport and communication means) is seen as a crucial channel of international integration. Thus, globalization is defined as integration on the basis of the project, which expands the role of markets on a global level (McMichael, 2000).There are also definitions that emphasize other relevant dimensions of globalization social, geographic, psychological. Globalization is understood as a social process in which geographic obstacles to social and cultural arrangements lose importance and where people are becoming increasingly aware that they lose importance (Waters 1995, p.3). Another definition of globalization, as intensification of worldwide social relations which link distant localities in such a way that local happenings are shaped by events occurring many miles away and vice versa, is well known (Giddens, 1990, p. 64). Globalization is also defined as compression of the world and intensification of consciousness of the world as a whole (Robertson, 1992, p. 8).Even this small sample of definitions is sufficient to conclude that globalization is a complex phenomenon with multiple effects, which makes it hard to define. There are, in fact, three possibilities for defining globalization (Mittelman, 2006, p. 64). First, it can be defined as intensification of global flows of goods and production factors, facilitated by modern transportation and communication means. Globalization can also be defined as a compression of time and space in a way that events in one part of the world have instantaneous effects on distant locations. The third approach is to comprehend globalization as a historical structure of material power. Globalization represents historical transformation in the economy, politics and culture (Mittelman, 2006, p. 64).The driving force of globalization is certainly the progress of technology. It speeds up the effects of globalization, and contributes to essential transformation of the functioning of economic systems. '' ... International economy is no longer divided vertically to separate national economies, but involves a number of different levels or types of market activities, which spread horizontally over a wider area of virtual space - replacing physical geography of national borders with quasi geography of market structures, transaction costs and informational cyber space.'' (Jaki, 1997, p. 13)The theory of globalization is a very propulsive area of research, but composed of contributions from many authors. Therefore, it is necessary to systematize sometimes quite heterogeneous understandings of globalization. Quite spread out, but, for the purposes of further consideration, an entirely appropriate classification of globalization theories differentiates three courses of analysis of this multidimensional phenomenon (Held, McGraw, 2007, p. 2):1. hyperglobalists2. transformationlists3. skeptics.Another classification of globalization theories is also possible. It consists of three theoretical orientations (Mileti, 2007, p. 176):1. structural2. conjuctural3. social-constructivist.

III. ANALYSIS

a. Concept of Globalization. To understand the notion of globalization, we first need to know the origin of the term globalization. The term globalization is derived from the English globe which means the world or globe. What is globalization? Globalization is a process leading to the scope of the world. Thus globalization can be defined as a global process, in which all the events whether economic, political or cultural happens in one part of the world can affect the lives of people around the world.Globalization can also be called a process by which social relationships and interdependence between people in this world greater. It is as it says an expert named R. Robertson that globalization is a process of shrinking the world and the increasing awareness of the world as a unity, interdependence and global awareness of the world are united.Another expert named Martin Albrow said regarding the whole process of globalization where the world is connected into a single world community, global community. According AG Mc Grew, globalization refers to the diversity of relationships and interconnections between communities that make up the modern world system. Globalization is the process by which events, decisions and activities in parts of the world that one can carry important consequences for individuals and communities in other parts of the world. In addition, M.Waters say that globalization is a social process in which the obstacles are geographical, social and cultural fabric of the shrinking and increasingly everyone is aware that they are getting closer to each other.Based on a clear understanding of globalization is able to make a change in the lives of the world that used to be a very simple multidimensional. Globalization also create stronger economic ties, politics, technology and culture that is capable of connecting individuals, communities, businesses and governments around the world.Globalization makes the fact that the life of the world into a single unit in a one world, which makes a global village (global village) with the human life of individuals, groups, or nations become interdependent (interdependency) in all aspects of life. In short, the development of information and communication technology makes the scope of interaction between people around the world increasingly narrows. There are several characteristics that indicate the growing phenomenon of globalization in the world. The first is a change in the concept of space and time. The development of items such as mobile phones, satellite television, and the internet shows that the global communication happens so quickly, while the movement of the masses through a kind of tourism allows us to feel a lot of different cultures.Second, market and economic production in different countries become interdependent as a result of the growth of international trade, the rising influence of multinational companies, and organizations such as the dominance of the World Trade Organization (WTO).Other characteristics that increase cultural interaction through the development of the mass media (especially television, movies, music, and transmission and international sports news). This time, we can consume and experience new ideas and thoughts on matters that cross diverse culture, for example in the field of fashion, literature, and the food. And increased joint problems, for example in the field of environment, multinational crisis, regional inflation and others.Kennedy and Cohen concluded that this transformation has brought us to globalism, a new awareness and understanding that the world is one. Giddens asserts that most of us are aware that we are actually taking part in a world that must change uncontrollably characterized by taste and interest would be the same thing, change and uncertainty, as well as the fact that might happen. Correspondingly, Peter Drucker said globalization as an era of social transformation.Globalization takes place in all areas of life such as the field of ideological, political, economic, social, cultural, defense and security and others. Today, the development of technology is so fast that all the information with a variety of shapes and interests can be spread widely throughout the world. Therefore, globalization is unavoidable presence.

b. Globalization of CultureThe word globalization is taken from the global word, whose meaning is universal. Globalization is seen as a social process, or the process of history, or a natural process that will bring the entire nation and the nations of the world increasingly bound up with each other, realizing a new order of life by eliminating geographical boundaries, economic and cultural. Then the notion of culture itself is something that will affect the level of knowledge and includes the system know the idea that there are ideas in the human mind, so that the culture is abstract.Krishna in his opinion Effect of Human Cultural Pluralism against Globalization in Developing Countries (September 2005), as a process, globalization takes place through interaction between the two dimensions in the nation, the dimensions of space and time. Narrowed more space and more time is shortened in the interaction and communication on a worldwide scale. In the Wikipedia link, found the meaning of culture as follows: Culture or cultures derived from the Sanskrit buddhayah, which is the plural form of buddhi (mind or sense) is defined as the things pertaining to the mind and human reason. In English culture called culture, which is derived from the Latin word Colere, the process or work. Can be interpreted also as cultivate the land or farming. Culture The word is also sometimes translated as culture in Indonesian. Thus, it can be identified that culture or cultures derived from humans through a process of thinking and acting. It was explained that the culture has nothing to do with the mind and human reason. Meanwhile, cultivate land or farming also through the processes of thinking and acting itself. Meanwhile, experts, each one expressed his opinion about the culture. According to Edward B. Taylor culture is a complex whole that contain knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, customs, and other capabilities from any person as a member of society. Meanwhile Selo Soemardjan and Soelaiman Soemardi, according to their culture is a means of work, taste, and creativity communities.Globalization in culture can develop rapidly, it is certainly influenced by the speed and ease in obtaining access to communications and news but this would backfire and become a problem of its own most crucial or important in globalization, namely the fact that the development of science knowledge controlled by developed countries.Discourse of globalization as a process characterized by the rapid development of science and technology so that it is able to fundamentally change the world. Communications and international transport has removed the boundaries of each nations culture. Culture of each nation tends to lead to globalization and the world becoming so involved human civilization as a whole.Simon Kemoni, Kenyan sociologist said that globalization in a form that will naturally elevate a variety of cultures and cultural values. In this natural process, every nation will try to adjust their culture with new developments so that they can move on and avoid destruction. But, according to Simon Kimoni, in this process, countries should strengthen their cultural dimensions and maintain the structure of values that are not eliminated by a foreign culture. In this context, various nations must get useful scientific information and add to their experience.Cultural changes that occurred in the traditional society, the change from a closed society into a more open society, from the values that are homogeneous to the pluralism of values and social norms is one of the effects of globalization. Science and technology have fundamentally changed the world. International communication and transportation has removed the boundaries of each nations culture. Culture of each nation tends to lead to globalization and the world becoming so involved human civilization as a whole. For example, specialized in the field of mass entertainment or entertainment that is mass, meaning that globalization has become more pronounced. The presence of information technology and communication technology is able to accelerate the process of globalization. Globalization touches all the important aspects of cultural life of the community and how we are able to react to it. Clearly globalization is creating new challenges and issues that must be addressed, solved in an effort utilization globalization for the benefit of Indonesian cultural life of future generations.

d. Cultural Globalization in South Korea and IndonesiaJoseph Nye in South Koreas growing soft power states: The traditions of [South] Korean art, crafts, and cuisine have already spread around the world. Korean popular culture has also crossed borders, particularly subject among younger people in neighboring Asian countries Indeed, the late 1990s the rise of the Korean wave the growing popularity of all Korean things, from fashion and music to movies and cuisine. Yang Seung Yoon says that there is equality of Indonesia and South Korea, which put more emphasis on the views and the achievement of spiritual elements, such as similarities in outlook and assessment of human life, a sense of awe in the natural environment and its amendments, as well as respect for ancestors and other forth. The equation allows the Korean Wave became the basis for acceptance by the people of Indonesia.Around the last 3 years, many Indonesian people who are not familiar with the term K-pop or Korean pop. Korean pop is currently widely discussed by some people, especially the youth due to the fame of K-pop is very influential on the dynamics of foreign culture into Indonesia. In this case, many Indonesian teenagers who prefer events from South Korea rather than having to watch the Indonesian national event. Starting from their search for information about the actress and the actor, so that eventually they become idolized South Korean artists. Indonesia is among countries that are affected by fever South Korea, it can be seen on television, magazines, and the Internet in Indonesia are now trying to broadcast or inform the news about the country of South Korea. Now, some television stations have broadcast the shows entertainment associated with South Korea, such as movies, music, and news for each day.In essence, the South Korean cultural globalization cannot be separated from the role of the media. Media bring the values of South Korean culture abroad and became one of the main supporting cultural globalization movement success of South Korea in the international world. Lots of media play a role in the spread of cultural values South Korea in the beginning was the television, which broadcast Korean dramas. Television is the primary means for the Indonesian people to get information about everything that is polarized battle South Korea.Mediate entry of the television success of South Korean culture in Indonesia cannot be denied to a domino effect of music and movies. But not only that, even tabloid magazines or newspapers as mass media in Indonesia also write news about South Korea as well as information about South Korean culture through electronic media. Moreover, even the internet can be called as the most influential media in the globalization of South Korean culture because not many South Korean movies and music get a spot in the International mainstream media. This is also the case in Indonesia. The enormity of the power of the internet in spreading the Korean Wave can be seen from the height of the flow of information about South Korean culture on the internet. Social networking site Twitter noted that during 2010, Super Junior, famous boy group from South Korea, finished second trending topic in terms of music. Super Junior is only surpassed by Justin Bieber, American singer who called the king of twitter (Twitter.com, December 2010). On the YouTube site, every time the South Korean singer released a teaser and music video (MV) on YouTube, in a few days can be watched by more than 1 million people and often even become top favorite video, most popular, or Most Discussed (YouTube.com , 2010).Information and communication technology is a key enabler of globalization. The development of technology is so fast that all the information with a variety of shapes and interests can be spread widely throughout the world. Therefore, globalization cannot avoid its presence. The presence of globalization is certainly an impact to the life of a country, including Indonesia. These include the influence of the two sides of the positive influences and negative influences. The influence of globalization in various fields of life such as politics, economics, ideology, socio-cultural and others will affect the values of nationalism against the South Korean nation is a large impact on the young generation in Indonesia is being adored Korean Wave. This is the fear of globalization, that is, when the local community deify foreign culture, and abandon its own original culture but we do not feel.Actually we were colonized by the triumph of Korean Pop Culture in Indonesia. Korean Wave were very large in Indonesia should be a real morale boosters to make changes. Korean Wave is basically very interesting to learn and inspire as middle modernity, there is the spirit of continuous changes in it, but by not leaving the traditional culture in it.It became interesting to learn for the young people in Indonesia, that when we are affected by other cultures that come in, we have a filter that is culture itself, between tradition and modernists that can run in harmony, harmony, and balance. In the end, the triumph of South Korean pop culture (Korean Wave) in Indonesia must be able to inspire us all to advance and prosper with Indonesian pop culture. Popular Culture of South Korea vs Indonesia FOOD similarities: - eat food with rice - usage of spicy chili (dried or in chili paste)- consist mainly of rice with meat and vegetables differences:- serve food with special seasonings to make it sourer- different taste Kimchi, Bimbimbap, Gado-gado, Satay. Korean and Indonesia have different religions. Most Koreans tend to be Buddhists, while in Indonesia; most of the populations are Muslims. Both countries highly respect religion and it plays an important role for the community in both countries. Both countries also provide lots of worshiping place in every city for the people to use (Temples in Korea, and Mosques in Indo). Traditional Clothes Indonesian & Korean traditional clothes are not the same, although both countries still preserve their traditional culture and use the clothes in certain dates. Traditional clothes play an important role for both countries as it reflects and symbolizes the culture and originality of both countries. TV Shows Both countries have similar themes regarding TV Shows. Indonesian Sinetrons are usually a soap opera, and it usually tells the daily events in the lives of the same group of character or family. Korean TV shows is usually themed drama and comedy-romance. Many of Korean dramas have become popular throughout the world such as Japan, China, North America, and of course Indonesia. One of the most and critically acclaimed Korean TV show is Winter Sonata. Music, since the start of the Korean wave, many Indonesians have started to become interested and imitate Koreans. Korean music plays an important role in Indonesia, and throughout the years many people in Indonesia have made some boy-band and girl-band groups. These boy and girl-bands in Indonesia have similar themes and style like Korean boy bands and girl bands. An example of Indonesian boy and girl bands that imitate the Korean style and themes are Sm*sh, XO-IX, Cherrybelle, and 7Icons. Popular culture is the entirety of ideas, perspectives, attitudes, images, and other phenomena that are within the mainstream of a given culture.

e. Impact of Culture Globalization in South Korea and IndonesiaIn the development of the Korean Wave in particular about Korean Pop (K-Pop) itself there are many effects that make this nation becomes more advanced, but there are also effects that make this nation into the native culture poor or circuitry other words forget their own culture. The positive impact of the entry of the Korean Wave in Indonesia, namely the love of the people at the higher music. This statement is very clear that with the variation of new music in Indonesia, it will add a lot of genres of music in this country, in this case of course the public taste was spoiled by the presence of K-Pop.Another positive impact is the talent pool that had been buried within the community, especially the youth, can be developed or expressed. That is progress in terms of creativity and modern music. With the K-Pop these young people can learn about K-Pop art, ranging from dance, though sound, musical genre, and so forth.Strengthen the relationship between Indonesia and South Korea is also one of the positive effects of globalization South Korean culture in Indonesia. In the bilateral relations between countries between Indonesia with South Korea alone will certainly indirectly more closely, because this is a reciprocal relationship that will happen. On the one hand, South Korea could boost their economies by receiving royalties from album sales and so on, while the other side of Indonesia as a consumer can be satisfied by the musical entertainment. In addition, many teens who are interested to learn the Korean language and culture. The explanation for this statement is related to science itself. With the tremendous interest in Indonesian great, pushing some of K-Pop music lovers is to learn everything related to K-Pop and country of origin. The K-Pop music lovers will learn the language of South Korea by way of figuring out the meaning of any lyrics to the songs that they like. In this case, the knowledge about the other countries will also be evolved. The impact of South Korean culture also have a negative impact K-Pop culture that eliminates many native Indonesian culture of arts such as Indonesian teenagers now prefer South Korean music rather than listen to dangdut music which is basically the original music culture of Indonesia, and also a lot on replacing dangut singer, Indonesian music with singers currently more homage to the K-Pop, that called a boyband and girlband by Indonesian society. Currently the existence of K-Pop already clear that South Korean culture has been slowly eliminating indigenous cultures of Indonesia and the negative impact to the country.South Korean cultural influence indigenous Indonesian culture through arts film that does just that, the current South Korean films more attractive for the people of Indonesia were publicly rather than Indonesian films made by native Indonesian film director and producer, whereas the films work of the nation is also no less good but because of the globalization of culture is the one that makes a lot of changes in terms of culture it is also an impact on the Indonesian income taken from the culture began to decrease due to the presence of foreign cultures began contracting and eliminating indigenous cultures of Indonesia. From the entry of K-Pop culture is much too visible impact for the people of Indonesia who began to imitate the lifestyle clothing for example in terms of the origin of the current South Korean clothing more often seen use of the use of batik clothes that are native to Indonesia which is also part of Indonesian culture. The impact of globalization such as these that make the cultural tastes of Indonesian society began to be replaced with a foreign culture.

IV. CONCLUSION

Korean Wave Phenomenon has become very influential on Indonesian society. The fans of Korean Pop and Korean Drama consciously or unconsciously affect several things ranging from clothing style, life style, life partner characteristics to interest in South Korean language. South Koreas interest in the artists interest is not reciprocal interpersonal attraction but one direction. However, this interest remains so large and cause hysteria because the idol has a beautiful face. The attraction is caused by two factors: internal and external. Internal personality is because teenagers are still not stable, so still searching for a role model desired. Remarkably wave of Korean Wave swept inevitably also their personality. In addition, the need for friendship in adolescents also led to the emergence of communities of the South Korean artist fans. External terms, the cause of the Korean Wave phenomenon as well as the influence of the music industry or the ongoing drama of importing South Korean entertainment arts into the Indonesian spectacle that affect peoples lives.
