Current Client Projects1. Housing Commission of Anne Arundel County –

ongoing for 2010– Client: Provides housing for low income families and seniors in eight

communities– Type of survey: Resident satisfaction and facility condition – used for

planning, oversight and HUD accreditation purposes– Methodology: Self-administered at each community. Residents fill them

out at the time of contract renewal, producing a quarterly stream of completed surveys for CSLI to use for data entry and report generation.

– N=Varies by community– Current status: Waiting for next quarter’s questionnaires.– Income generated: Overall $5100, retained for CSLI operations: $5100. – Students employed: 0-1

Client: Provides fire and EMT services for county residents – Type of survey: To be defined but includes some citizen awareness,

operational trade/off preferences, satisfaction. – Methodology: Telelphone (landline only).– N=Around 400 (target) – Current status: Likely to start at the end of October.– Income generated: Overall $5000, retained for CSLI operations: $750 – Students employed: 10-15

– Fall 2010: Two or three– Hours: vary depending on projects and needs of the moment but goal is to

average five hours per week per intern– Duties: range from data entry, student supervision, telephone interviewing

Current Student-related Activities3. CSLI student club

– Inception: 2006 – designated an official student club. – Organizational structure: Officers include president, vice president,

secretary and treasurer, elected at beginning of fall semester. CSLI intern usually chosen as club president

– Budget: Varies annual – obtained for 2010-11: $1115 from student association.

– 2009-10 Activities: Visit to American Political Science Association in Washington DC; planned visits to Baltimore Council of Foreign Affairs.

CSLI Recent Activities

Recent Public Outreach Radio: WNAV – director was interviewed about CSLI spring research findings. Also on

radio Sept. 14 for election analysis. Television: Comcast Local Edition – director discussed CSLI spring research findings. Presentations: Director made presentations to Kiwanis Club of Annapolis.

Presentations are anticipated to 32rd District Democratic Club, Almost 7:30 Dem Club, Annapolis Women’s group.

Candidate Forums: October 19 (6-9:30 p.m. Pascal Center/AACC) – county council and county executive race (cosponsoring with Captial and Annapolis and Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce).

– Oct. 4: District 30 candidates (Maryland Hall, 7:00 p.m.) CSLI Web site: Posted all new presentations and updates to searchable database (see

http://www2.aacc.edu/csli).

Semi-annual Survey and Web PanelWeb panel: We have accumulated a total of around 650 possibly valid email addresses.
