Welcome from the Pastor
Our study in First Peter continues
with a concentrated focus on suf-
fering. Living in obedience to
God’s standards, as communicated
in His word, goes against the grain
of worldly expectations. Through
salvation our new life in Christ
calls for us to put off worldly pas-
sions that once controlled our lives
and to live our new lives in the
flesh according to the will of God.
This obedience can result in suffer-
ing at the hands of a world that
does not understand the changed
life in Christ. Peter reminds us
once again that our suffering fol-
lows the example of our Savior
and as body of believers we are
called to encourage one another in
a variety of ways. We will learn
today that we can glorify God in
times of difficulty when we con-
form to God’s standards.
Welcome to Our Guests
We are thrilled you have joined us
today to worship our great God.
We want to get to know you and
ask that you fill out our welcome
card in the pew and place it in the
offering plate. Our prayer is that
you will worship the Lord, connect
with other believers, and be chal-
lenged from God’s Word today.
