United States Customs Visas & Invitation Letters
Should you need a visa to enter the United States, we will provide you with an invitation letter. Please
note that visa approval could take up to 60 days.
It is important to verify with your embassy what type of visa will be required for your training. Whether it
be a Student visa (M-1) for an Initial training or a Business visa for recurrent training, it is always best to
verify with your Embassy.
Invitation letters will be issued to customers when confirmed for training.
In order to issue your invitation letter, please provide us with the following:
- Copy of attendees passport (scanned and sent via e-mail)
- Location of the US Embassy where the attendee will be applying for a visa

Security Access Badge
Please be advised that the following procedures are to be followed in accordance with CAE Security policy:
• Badges are to be worn and visible at all times;
• Access badges to the Training Centre are for your use only; it does not permit you to bring in family members or friends at any time of the day, evenings or weekends;
• Visitors who are not here for company business will not be permitted beyond the reception at any time;

Important Notices (Pilot Training)
Pilot Training Documents
To ensure you schedule appropriate training, we recommend you send your company Operational Profi-
ciency Check (OPC) form to your Account Executive. If your company does not have the OPC form, you
may use the Bombardier form we will provide you.
On the first day of training, customers must present the following:
• Pilot License / Certificate
• Medical Certificate (if applicable)
• Valid Passport (for proof of citizenship)
• Visa (if applicable)
• Log Book for the issuance of the first Type Rating of a pilot and/or for the issuance of his/her
first FAA ATP
• If an Operational Proficiency Check (OPC) is to be conducted, please present your OPC
form to our Synthetic Flight Examiner (SFE) for completion
IACRA: For Non-USA Residents Attending an Initial Type Training
FAA certificates are generally issued via IACRA.

Crew Pairing
If you are attending class not as a crew, you will be paired in accordance with the National Regulatory
Authority under which you are receiving certification and/or licensing.
A FAA Part 91 customer attending class alone (not as a crew) may be paired with a FAA Part 135 pilot.
In such cases, the student will be briefed on Day 1 of training.

Pilot Training & Checking Special Requirements
Check Ride (Practical Test)
Type Rating Approved Training Organization (ATO) - (EASA Only)
FAA Guidance on Using Operator-Developed Checklists
It is the responsibility of the operator to arrange for a Transport Canada Regional Inspector or approved
check pilot to conduct any check ride that may be required by his/her company’s operations manual.
Training is conducted under the Bombardier Approved Training Organization (ATO). Pre-entry requirements
for an ATO are:
• 100 hours PIC
• Valid multi-engine instrument rating
• Completion of a multi-crew cooperation course (MCC) or a current type rating on a multi-crew
aircraft, and
• Successful completion of the ATPL theoretical knowledge exams.
14 CFR Part 91 and 125 pilots seeking training and/or checking utilizing operator-developed checklists
that differ from the Training Center’s approved courseware may have these checklists accepted as
approved curriculum courseware for recurrent training and/or checking.
The operator must provide the Training Center with a copy of the checklist and a written statement indi-
cating that the operator has determined that the submitted checklist meets the following performance
standards:
1. The checklist satisfies the requirements of 14 CFR Part 91;
2. The checklist is appropriate to the equipment in which the operator’s pilots are being trained
and/or checked;
3. Areas of differences from the recurrent version of the manufacturer’s checklist and the current
checklist in the accepted curriculum are documented;
4. The operator attests that he/she has determined that an equal or higher level of safety is
established through use of the submitted checklist.

The operator’s checklist, accompanying statements and summary of differences must be provided to
the CAE Civial Aviation Training Center, 15 days prior to training/checking to allow us to document that
the instructors and TCE’s are operationally knowledgeable with the provided checklist.

Technical Training Information
Training Schedule
Maintenance: EASA & CAAC Training
Safety Shoes & Safety Glasses for Aircraft Visits
Class introduction will typically begin at 08:00 on Day 1. During that session, program updates will be
provided, schedules will be distributed and training requirements will be reconfirmed.
Your passport is required and should be brought to the Training Center on your first day of training.
Customers attending B1 or B2 training with Practical must bring their own pair of safety shoes.
Occupational Health and Safety regulations at Bombardier facilities mandate that safety shoes (steel
toe) and safety glasses are to be worn by all persons while in production areas.
Safety shoes (steel toe) can be purchased while in Dallas for an approximate cost of $130 USD. Please
see Customer Service for further information.
A new pair of safety glasses is provided by the Training Center for your use. However, you may prefer to
bring your own pair of prescription safety glasses as the pairs provided might not fit over all types of eye
glasses.

eServices eLearning & Publications
eLearning
A one-year subscription to the Customer Training web portal is provided as part of your training experience. A
one-stop shop for all your courseware, the portal provides easy access to a library of eLearning courses, train-
ing ePublications and reference documents.
Your portal login information will be automatically sent via email five weeks prior to your course start date.
eLearning courses can be completed at your own pace and are available for review at any time. A
certificate of completion is available upon satisfactory completion of each course; copies of certificates for
past course completions will remain available in your portal profile.

Electronic versions of your Training Publications and reference documents are available to download for

You are eligible to receive a one-year subscription to Professional Pilot and Aviation International News.
Subscription forms can be found in your day one Welcome Package or upon request.
At the end of your course, your training material can be shipped home to you. To use this service, please
complete a Shipping Request Form (provided on the first day of class) and provide the account number of
your preferred courier company or a credit card.
