Jorge Segura Mora President amp CEO Born in 1965 Fulbright Scholar graduated Suma Cum Laude with a major in Banking Corporate and Investment Finance at the University of West Virginia USA in 1994 Ch-evening Scholar with a Master Degree in Finance from City University in London England in 1997 Graduated as stockbroker from the National Stock Exchange (1994) and the Electronic Stock Exchange of Costa Rica (1995) Creator and manager of the first online banking service

in Costa Rica (1994-1996) Director of the stockbrokers training program at the Electronic Stock Exchange of Costa Rica (1997-1998) founding partner of DCL Consultants (1997) nowadays Planeta Carbono Neutro SA In May 2013 the National Program of Culture of Costa Rica honored Jorge and his partner as Gold Sustainable Entrepreneurs of 2013

Javier Segura Mora Director 100 Carbon Neu-tral Program Born in 1968 Javier graduated Bachelor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Corpo-rate Finances at the Costa Rica Institute of Technology (1991) as well as a Stock Broker at the Electronic Stock Exchange of Costa Rica (1998) Javier dedicated the first part of his career to be a local and international consul-tant in areas of such diversity as tourism development fi-nance and project development (1992-1998) Joined DCL

Consultores in 1998 where held various key positions until reaching senior partner status at Planeta Carbono Neutro SA in 2015 In recent years Javier led the development of the technological package of the firm and he devel-oped in conjunction with the international associates the first private and international carbon neutral certification program in Costa Rica

Corporate History

The firm was founded in 1997 by its president MBA Jorge Segura under the name DCL Consultores SA Mr Segura had the vision to create a bou-tique consulting firm (business amp finance) whose mission would be to solve the business challenges of entrepreneurs and investors by developing and implementing practical cost effective and tailor-made solutions to the needs of each customer a commitment that continues to this day

The company has had since its inception the opportunity to participate in in-novative and unique projects of great impact such as the creation of a pro-totype of the Clean Development Mechanism (carbon offsets) for the Latin American Center for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development of IN-CAE the creation of the first mortgage securitization structure implemented in Costa Rica designed for Los Suentildeos Resort amp Marina created and pub-lished the first Investment Finance newsletter in the country ldquoPensando Dif-erente amp Generando Conocimientordquo assisted the takeover and assumed the full reorganization of Lomas de Carara Resort (Nativa Resort) performed the financial reconstruction and management of Bahia Escondida Mari-na Resort executed the conceptual design entitlement process and project management of Terra Paradise Eco Adventure Resort the first adventure resort 100 sustainable eco-friendly and carbon neutral in Latin America and created the first internationally backed carbon neutrality program in Costa Rica

In 2006 under the name Hara Consulting Technologies CR SA the compa-ny evolved to become the first regional consulting firm specialized in the de-sign development and implementation of sustainable projects for companies and investors in the tourism amp hospitality industries This compromise with sustainability allowed the company to invest time and resources in the gener-ation development and adaptation of sustainable technologies and strategies applicable to the Latin American market During the period 2010-2015 the



firm developed the know-how in the areas of sustainable development and carbon neutral strategies required to further evolve into a more sophisticated and differentiated consulting firm with the ability to reach different markets and industries

As a result of those efforts in October of 2014 the firm launched to the mar-ket its proprietary product 100 Carbon Neutralreg a corporate program developed to allow companies of any size market and industry to achieve their carbon neutral status through a practical and cost effective process and as such benefit from the strategic advantages of such condition In October 2015 the partners decided to move towards a wider market and launched their new organization Planeta Carbono Neutro SA a boutique-consult-ing firm specialized in the creation and development of carbon neutral and sustainable solutions and strategies for companies of any industry and in any market
