Is this the final round of community consultation on the project?

The Queensland Government's community engagement on the Tropical North Global Tourism Hub

commenced in December 2017 and to date three rounds of formal community consultation have

occurred.

1. The first round of community consultation on the Tropical North Global Tourism Hub was undertaken between 20 December 2017 and 11 February 2018. During this time members of the public were invited to ‘Have their Say’ on what they would like in a GTH development in the Tropical North region. The State received more than 600 responses and data collected was forwarded to the shortlisted Proponents.

2. Public consultation was also undertaken on the potential for a State development area (SDA) to support the Tropical North GTH was between 26 November 2018 and 15 February 2019. The Coordinator-General is now considering all submissions received. For further information on the investigation, visit the Coordinator-General’s website or contact the SDA Division on 1800 001 048 or via [email protected]

3. The next round of community consultation on the Tropical North Global Tourism Hub sketch ideas is being conducted between Monday 8 April 2019 to Friday 3 May 2019. Responses received will be forwarded to the shortlisted Proponents to help them deliver an iconic Global Tourism Hub that is representative of the Tropical North.
