Student Council Penny War
Next week, Student Council will be hosting its annual
Penny Wars! This year’s theme is “The Dec-
ades.” 6th grade will represent the ‘60s; 7th grade the
70’s; and 8th grade will be the 80’s. During all lunch
periods next week, you will see boxes for each grade
level.
Rules: To earn points for your grade, bring in pennies
and put in your grade’s box. To sabotage other
grades, bring in dollars or silver coins, like nickels,
quarters, and dimes and put them in other grades’
boxes. “Sabotage money” counts as negative points
towards the opposing team! The grade with the high-
est points will earn ice cream for everyone at lunch.
All proceeds help raise funds for our annual 3K event.

7th and 8th grade parents:
Your children may be eligible for a college scholarship!
Please take the time to read the attached documents ti-
tled "21st Century Scholar info flyer" and “application
worksheet.” Indiana's 21st Century Scholars Program
offers income-eligible Hoosier students up to four years
of paid tuition at an eligible Indiana college or university
after they graduate from high school. Applications must
be received no later than June 30, of the student's 8th
grade year. Ms. Blue in the guidance office can provide
you with your student’s STN number if you would like to
complete the application process yourself. If you prefer,
you can fill out the necessary information and turn the
application worksheet into the office, and Ms. Blue will
complete the application process for you. Don’t let this
opportunity for four years of paid tuition pass your stu-
dents by!
