the multiple cloud standards-defining bodies

• Establish the criteria for open-standards-based cloud computing

History• Founded in April 2011• Originally facilitated by, but

independent of, the OMG

Practical Guide(chair: IBM; 60 active members)

Develop collateral to help enterprise information technology (IT) & business

decision makers adopt cloud computing to solve business

challenges.

Security(chair: Boeing & Kroger; 43 active members)

Develop high priority use cases for cloud security, reflecting customer issues &

pain points in cloud deployment models. ID management, authorization, auditing, availability, data protection & privacy are

a few issues under consideration

XaaS(Chair: Ekartha & IBM; 31 active members)

Identify & document existing standards, use cases & best practices spanning areas of IaaS, PaaS & SaaS, to help organizations achieve business agility

& mitigate time to market, quality & cost issues.

Financial Services(chair: State Street; 24 active members)

Create, refine, or assemble financial services industry-specific use cases & business patterns for cloud in order to

influence cloud technology standards in the sector

Healthcare(chair: Lockheed Martin; 26 active members)

5 initiatives: 1) Industry use of cloud; 2) Standards & SDO's driving cloud use;

3) Existing EHR implementation / adoption guidance; 4) Effective privacy requirements for cloud; 5) Compliance

monitoring for cloud customers

Big Data(Chair: IBM; WG Launch, Jan. 2013)

This CSCC WG will build on the cloud computing principles to develop best

practices and identify functional / standards requirements for these new,

engaging, internet-scale big-data analytics platforms.
