CLINCHFIELD FEDERAL CREDIT UNION QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2013
Mark your calendars for the 2013 CFCU Annual Meeting!
The date is Friday, March 22nd and will be held at the Uni-
coi County High School cafeteria and auditorium. As al-
ways, you will have a great meal and your favorite gospel
singing by The Landmarks! Then Kevin King will bring his
astonishing sleight-of-hand magic and refreshing comedy to
you! A short business meeting and board of directors elec-
tion will also be held, and since each member has a vote in
the leadership of the credit union, your vote is very impor-
tant.
As a member, you attend free of charge. You may bring a
guest for only $10.00. Please fill out the enclosed postcard
and return it to the Credit Union if you received your state-
ment in regular mail, or please contact us here at the Credit
Union so we can fill out your reservation card for you if you
received E-statements.
We look forward to seeing you at this exciting event!
This night is for you.
Join the Mob...The CFCU Ca$h Mob, that is! All members are invited to join in the fun of mobbing a local business with us soon! Check our website, Facebook page, watch for our Erwin Record ad, and listen to WEMB to learn when and where. We will be on-site handing out our new CFCU Mob$ter t-shirts and we will serve dessert in our Credit Union lobby at the end of the day for all who participate in the Mob. And, to top things off, we will have a drawing for a crisp $100 bill! Ca$h Mobs are a way of showing support of a se-lected business by a group of people wishing to encourage local business and show appreciation. We think this is a fun way to show how much value they add to the “Valley Beautiful”. Watch for more information...coming soon, fellow Mob$ters!
Are you ready to share some good news about your Credit Union? You can win, your friend or family member can win, everybody wins! Simply tell others about our fantastic loan products and when they are approved for a new loan and the loan proceeds are disbursed, each of your names will be entered in a separate drawing for an eReader! It may be a Kindle, it may be a Nook...we are just full of surprises! Separate drawings will be held: one eReader for the mem-ber who made the referral; and another for the member who got the loan! The drawings will be held on March 22nd on stage during the Annual Meeting! Some restrictions apply. See the loan department for details. Loans...Loans...Loans… Talk about Loans...Loans...Loans

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
MONDAY, February 18th President’s Day
Hello from the CEO
Dear CFCU Member,
I hope each and every one of you had a great Christmas! As I get older, I real-
ize more each day the importance of spending time with family. When I think
about Christmas, I always think about our family dinners, opening presents to-
gether on Christmas Eve, watching the kids in church plays, singing in the cantata,
and trying to either hide presents, or tape them in a way that couldn’t be easily
opened. Great memories are getting better now that grandkids are involved!
Somehow, Carly just knew that all the presents wrapped in Mickey Mouse or
Tinker Bell paper were hers and she wasn’t a bit shy about opening them! How
blessed we are!
Family entertainment is what we have in store for you at our Annual Meeting
this year. Kevin King is, by far, the best magician and one of the funniest comedi-
ans I have ever seen! He was performing at a conference I was at recently and
somehow, through the help of some so-called friends, I ended up on stage with
him. I was amazed at his skill and memory; he completely impressed me!
And, of course, gospel music at its best will be performed by our very own
Landmarks! They’ve become a much requested tradition over the years and I
know you look forward to hearing them as much as we all do!
We look at our community as part of our family and wanted to find a way to
support local merchants. We will be notifying members on Facebook, radio, web-
site, and the local paper to participate in “Ca$h Mobs” several months during
2013. We will pick a day to support different local businesses and encourage our
members to shop at that business on a certain day. Be watching for this great op-
portunity to make a difference for our local businesses!
Speaking of Facebook...be sure to look us up and please “like” us! You might
want to check in pretty often because we have already had one contest and we
gave away a couple of tickets to Biltmore Estate. We plan to do exciting contests
in the near future, too.
The “Refer-A-Friend” promotion ended and we are very pleased with the re-
sults. Not only were we able to serve some new members’ lending needs, we were
humbled and touched by all the members that referred friends. Thank you all very
much! We were so pleased that we intend to have another “Refer-A-Friend” con-
test which will end on March 22nd. We will draw the winners at the Annual Meet-
ing. This time we will be drawing for two eReaders: one to the member that
makes the referral and one to the new member that is approved for a loan. So get
busy, and bring us some new members and you just might be a lucky winner!
A warm welcome is extended to our newest board member, Walter Harris.
Having served on the board several years ago Walter is a welcome addition. Wel-
come back, Walter!
Special note to my precious family: it was so good to have my son Jamie home
for the holidays and I think my favorite moment
was Sunday dinner with everyone eating way too
much and just sitting around talking and teasing
each other...memories in the making!

We were advised by the US Treasury and the Social
Security Administration that they have changed the
method of ACH benefit payments to those routinely
paid on the 3rd of each month. We have worked dili-
gently to make sure that everyone with loan or share
distributions from their direct deposit would not be
affected by this change. Please look closely at your
statement this month, particularly your loan payments,
and contact us ASAP if you find any errors.
