Thank You

On behalf of our parishes I offer thanks to all who planned and assisted at our annual Anointing Mass on October 24th at Ascension and our annual All Souls Memorial Mass on November 2nd at St. Ber-nard. Between the two Masses about 150 people attended with a good number enjoying fellowship and refreshment after each Mass. At the October 24th Mass about 40 parishioners received the Sacra-ment of Anointing of the Sick. We were blessed to have The Harbor van operated by Dean Johnson of-fer rides to some of the elderly. Parishioners also assisted the elderly who came in wheelchairs or with walking aids. On November 2nd we remembered, gave thanks to God and prayed for our departed loved ones, especially for the 14 individuals who were buried and/or had funerals celebrated at our parishes, including Fr. Gerald Keefe, the former Pas-tor of St. Bernard. I received numerous responses of gratitude from those who attended these Masses. I am grateful for the assistance of so many parishioners without whom it couldn’t have happened. You were the hands and feet of Jesus reaching out to the elderly, ill, bereaved, and souls in purgatory. Jesus says to you: ‘Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.’ Matthew 25:40

Thanks for helping strengthen our parish family through these family prayer opportunities!

News to share about Sister Jancy and Sister Parnitha Sister Jancy is a Pastoral Minister at Mary Mother of the Church in Burnsville. The parish has about 1700 fami-lies, so is quite a bit larger than St. Bernard's. She brings Communion to people in several nursing homes, and to people in Fairview Hospital, and she loves her job. Sister Pranitha works at the Augustana Health Care Cen-ter. Sister went to school nursing assistant degree, so that is able to work in a nursing home. and just loves it. They both live in a home owned by the church and they are very comfortable there. They have their own rooms, a kitchen, sitting room, bathroom, dining room and a chapel. The home is not right on the church property, but pretty close, so they can get to work and to church easily.

The Church address is: 3333 East Cliff Road, Burnsville, MN 55378

Sister Jancy's phone #: 952-890-0045 ext. 234

Prayers: Your prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Lorraine Wickenhauser, mother of Bob Wickenhauser who passed away recently. May she rest in peace.

The St. Bernard's Ladies Guild Christmas Bazaar and luncheon is scheduled for Saturday Nov. 21st. 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm. In the school Cafeteria. Start getting your craft items together and looking thru your recipes for baked goods, candy and other Christmas goodies. Your support is great appreciated. In today’s bulletin is an insert of Quilt raffle tickets. Please sell/purchase a sheet of tickets for the beautiful quilt. Raf-fle tickets can be turned in to the collection plate in a separate envelope marked “Quilt Raffle”.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION: Saturday: 4:15-4:45 pm

MASS AT THE HARBOR Mass at The Harbor will be held the second Friday of

each month at 10:15 am. All are welcome.

Anyone in need of Mercy?? There is an image of Jesus as Divine Mercy in the entryway. Nearly 100 years ago, Jesus appeared to

St. Faustina with this request: tell the world of My love & mercy. He gave her some short prayers to accompany

the image. We are making this image and its prayers available parishioners to have in your homes for a week

or two, whatever works for you. The chaplet prayer takes only 6 minutes, and we would ask you to pray it daily before the image as a family/couple/individual. The phone number is there with the image for you to

arrange to get it. It is especially appropriate for the

upcoming Year of Mercy. For more info or to sign up to have the image in your home,

please call Mary Kelly at 952-353-2633.

STEWARDSHIP Last weekend was our Stewardship Commitment

Weekend. You should have received a letter, an As-cension Ministries Brochure, and a Time and Talent

Response Form in the mail this week. Please take time to consider how you can offer your time, talent and

treasure. Then, fill out the Time and Talent Response Form and bring it to Mass next weekend. Completed

forms can be placed in the “Stewardship Basket” in the back of church or can be placed in the collection bas-

ket. Thank you for being a part of this parish and offering your gifts to God!

For any questions please contact the Stewardship Committee.

“CCHD is one way that we as faith communities can live our faith and work together to end poverty. I have learned that the people of the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Min-

neapolis have always been generous supporters of CCHD, and many local anti-poverty groups have benefited from that generosity. Please continue that tradition by supporting this year’s CCHD collection.”

(Archbishop Bernard Hebda) This collection will be taken on Nov. 21-22nd

Ladies Lunch Wednesday, November 18th. Desti-nation to be determined. Call Patsy Wells at 952-466-2000 if you plan to attend, also if you need a ride and where to meet for lunch. Hope to see you there.
