“FAITH TO MOVE MOUNTAINS” UPDATE AS OF 11/8/2015

As of our last tally we are 84% of goal. This money will be used to repave our parking lot, fund a Faith Formation program for our youth and adults and go toward a Capitol improvement Fund for repairs and improvements to our Buildings and grounds. We need $72,285 to reach our goal.

We have received a few one-time contributions toward this campaign and are very grateful for them. Please consider a pledge or gift so that we can reach this goal. “Epiphany is people”, and we have always rallied to the call. Please prayerfully consider this request and help us go over the top. Thank you for your consideration.

***Our Current Budget*** Due to unforeseen circumstances we will not have new numbers this week. Thank you for your patience.

Respect Life “I know I don’t need to give you a laundry list of Planned Parenthood’s disgusting and illegal activities-covering up statutory rape, overbilling taxpayers, aiding and abetting sex traffickers, operating unsafe and unsanitary clinics, scheduling sex selection abortions, accepting money to abort African American children and now selling the body parts of aborted babies-and that is only the tip of the iceberg. This is and organization that gets over $500 million a year in taxpayer money and kills over 327,000 babies a year. They had a net profit of $127 million in the last year…” New Jersey Right to Life newsletter.

Please continue to pressure Senators Menendez and Booker and your representative to defund Planned Parenthood. Neither our tax dollars nor Medicaid funds should be used to support this organization. Call, write or email.

Senator Cory Booker, 2 Riverside Dr., suite 505, Camden, NJ 08101; 856-338-8922; Senator Robert Menendez, One Gateway Center, Suite 1100, Newark, NJ 07102; 973-645-3030 Email can be easily done from their online websites.

Our Respect Life bulletin board is slowly but surely filling up and looking very nice. A big "Thank You" to those of you who have shared your precious pictures with us!! If you haven't submitted a picture yet, there is still time. Just drop it off in the basket on the table and it will be put up right away! Thank you for participating in our Respect Life project! God bless you and your loved ones.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and we will once again hold our annual Thanksgiving Dinner. Last year we fed over 1200 people and we had just enough food for all. Could you find it in your heart to help someone who will be alone for the holiday? We are in need of volunteers who are willing to make us a cooked turkey, a tray of either mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes or stuffing. In addition, we are in need of desserts and folks who are willing to deliver meals. If you are going to be away for the holiday and still want to help we are accepting donations to cover the cost of the paper goods which cost us over $2000 last year. If you would like to help please call the Church office at 732-458-0220 or stop by at our Thanksgiving table after mass. Thanks for your help in advance. Sue Hermida

Gospel: John 18:33b-37 Pilate asks Jesus if he is a king. Jesus explains that his kingdom is not of this world. Pilate asks again if Jesus is a king, to which he replies, "I came into the world to testify to the truth. Anyone committed to the truth hears my voice.” “Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead and ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, who has made us into a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen…Jesus answered ‘my kingdom does not belong to this world.’” We bring the church’s year of grace to a close, as we proclaim who Jesus is for us all. Celebrating this great feast, may we pause for a moment and ask, ‘How often do I pray the words of Jesus, ‘Thy kingdom come?’ What do they mean to me? How often I have listened to the parables which begin with the words ‘The kingdom of heaven is like’ or ‘The kingdom of God is like’. Jesus is speaking of our church, the place where grace flows, blessings pour out and Jesus is at the center. Our celebration today allows us to refocus and make sure that He is what we proclaim in reality,

that He is the one from whom we receive the love and freedom of which Revelation speaks. As we direct our attention on Him, we repeat the words of praise above, and express gratitude for the kingdom, the church, to which we belong, live, move and have our being.

A Thanksgiving Table Prayer

O God of all creation, Giver of all good gifts, You bless our lives with your generous love, by giving us once more the fruit of the fields, our family and friends, our faith, our work, and our lives together. We thank you for these gifts, and ask that you help us to imitate your goodness, to share our blessings with those who are in need.
