Happy Easter! Today we celebrate the most unique moment in the history of humankind: The Resurrection of Jesus who triumphs over death. We welcome our newly baptized whose new life in Christ prepares them for eternal glory. St. Francis de Sales speaks of our need to renew each year our desire to serve God in order to love Jesus. Jesus, surviving death, lives on in His works. A day will come when we shall rise from the dead. Our mortal bodies, now subject to corruption, will be immortal. Jesus took on our likeness and gave us His so that we might have a new life in abundance. Our God has so lovingly inspired and urged you to conversion. In baptism you became a child of God, forming your self according to the Law of the Gospel. Letting go of your old self, you rose anew in Christ. Yet, as long as we live we shall need to renew ourselves and begin over. Like some clocks that need to be cleaned and repaired, so it is with our heart. We must straighten out bent parts and repair those parts worn out. Each year such an exercise will warm up your heart, bring new life to your good resolutions to serve God and make you flourish with fresh vigor. In winter the earth relaxes, rests and does not produce. When spring comes it renews itself with flowers that bring us joy. Because our nature grows cold easily, we need to renew our promise to love God above all, and love all other things because they are agreeable to God, profitable to God’s honor, and destined for God’s glory. Before we enter eternal glory, the Gardener wishes to plant in our garden many flowers. Let us serve God as God wishes and we will see that one day God will do all we wish, and more than we know how to wish. When we are raised to a life of divine love, we live for our Savior who has risen. It is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice. Alleluia!

REQUEST FOR NEW SERVERS We are in need of new servers for the weekend Masses at Christ, Prince of Peace and St. Lawrence. If you are interested in serving at Mass or parents, if you are interested in having your children serve at Mass, please call the parish office (724-763-9141) and leave the name of the child, phone number and which church they would like to serve for. Serving Mass is a very important and special ministry in the church. Your children become more connected to the liturgy and the church when they participate in this ministry. In order to serve, your child needs to have received First Communion. Thank you in advance for your consideration and I hope we have many responses.

It is with great appreciation to those who helped to prepare the churches for the Pascal Triduum Liturgies this Easter. It takes a tremendous amount of work and time in preparing the Churches for this glorious celebration, the
Resurrection of Christ. The gift of your time and your talent has helped each one of us to encounter the crucified and Risen Lord in our Liturgies this Easter. May you feel His love and forgiveness as He has died and risen for our sins.

EVERY 40 SECONDS, SOMEONE IN THE U.S. IS HAVING A STROKE!
Stroke Scan Plus will be available for Christ, Prince of Peace & St Lawrence Partner Parishioners on Saturday,
May 11, 2019 at Divine Redeemer School to provide life-saving, wellness ultrasound screenings. It is important to perform preventive maintenance for ourselves yearly. Do
you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol, diabetes, or a family history of heart disease, stroke,
abdominal aneurysm or internal cancers? If so, do not miss this opportunity for early detection of a possibly serious disease. These screenings are typically NOT
performed at your annual check-up, and insurance companies may not pay for them unless you are
symptomatic. Diagnostic versions of these screenings cost thousands of dollars in a hospital. Stroke Scan Plus will
be offering them to you for $159 for all 7 combined ultrasound screenings (Stroke, AAA, AFIB &
organs). Insurance is NOT necessary and appointments are limited. Stroke Scan will be available at the church for you to register on May, 4 & 5, 2019 or please call 832-437-
7355 or toll free 1-866-935-7226 to schedule an appointment today for you or a loved one. The screenings will take place in/at the School’s Cafeteria. Prevention is
your key to quality health! www.strokescan.com.
