GUEST  PRESENTER  -‐  THE  MECHANICS  OF  SINGING

On  Monday  30th  March  we  will  be  treated  to  a  half  hour  presentation  by  physiotherapist  and  seasoned  public  speaker  Max  Kavanagh.  Max  is  passionate  about  sharing  his  experience  and  knowledge  of  fitness,  posture  and  general  well-‐being,  and  will  be  explaining  the  biomechanics  of  singing  to  us  in  a  natural  and  engaging  way.  Bring  your  notepad!

CHOIR  BIRTHDAY  DINNER

Vocalize  Choir  started  up  on  the  16th  April  2012,  and  each  year  we  have  a  little  birthday  celebration  dinner.  This  year  we  will  celebrate  our  3rd  birthday  on  the  first  week  back  from  holidays,  the  27th  April  at  7pm.

Please  bring  a  savoury  or  a  sweet  to  share,  starting  with  the  letter  ‘C’  (for  choir,  of  course!).  Some  ideas  are:  cake,  chocolate,  crackers,  chips,  casserole,  cheese  platter,  carrots,  celery,  cucumber,  corn,  chicken,  chorizo..  but  of  course  feel  free  to  think  outside  the  box!

TERM  2  DIRECTOR

In  Term  2  I  will  be  taking  maternity  leave,  during  which  we  will  be  directed  by  friend  and  former  Vocalize  member  Anthony  Little.  Anthony  has  been  singing  for  many  years  in  a  variety  of  ensembles  including  choirs  and  musical  theatre  troupes.  We  look  forward  to  having  him  in  April!  (Maybe  he’ll  be  bringing  Marcia  Hines  too?)

That’s  about  all  for  now  –  looking  forward  to  the  remainder  of  the  term!
