Chairman's letterOn behalf of the International Packaged Ice Association, Leah and I would like to welcome you to the 99th Convention and Trade Show at this stunning venue. The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa showcases true Texas hospitality with its countryside ranch charm and convenience to the city. Our host property is truly ONE OF A KIND.

This year’s convention features informative speakers and presentations, along with our exhibit hall and networking opportunities. The Convention will open Tuesday and Chris Dunn will be presenting updates in his FSMA & PIQCS session. Our Keynote speaker, Dr. Kevin Elko, a favorite of mine, will deliver an empowering message on developing leaders.

We are also excited to have a brand new feature session on “The Ten Best Practices of Family Businesses” presented by the Goering Center which is an organization our family has worked with and is affiliated with University of Cincinnati’s College of Business. This interactive workshop will focus on ways to implement the best practices in your family-owned or private business.

The Exhibit Hall will open Tuesday evening with an Election Day Party 2016! We will have monitors to watch election results and keep things lively in the Exhibit Hall. VOTE EARLY

Make sure to visit your Associate Members in the exhibit hall throughout the hall hours as they display a variety of equipment and offer services important to attendees. The exhibit hall is the venue for networking as well, so please show your support to the hard efforts of our exhibitors by your attendance.

We are also so pleased to offer not one, but two plant tours this year. Thank you to Mireles Party Ice and Reddy Ice for opening their doors to convention attendees.

Our evening events continue to be one of the highlights of our convention. We are asking people to wear their favorite sports team apparel for the Chairman’s Gala Tailgate party “Texas Style”. This evening is sure not to disappoint as the fun, exciting live music, and delectable food and libations will be one to remember. We will then close the convention on Thursday evening with an enjoyable cocktail reception and the passing of the gavel.

Leah and I are looking forward to seeing you in Texas!

After crushing bars of ice to sell with kegs for many years, Jesse (with some help from his son Jesse IV) founded Mireles Ice in 2001. From a meager 10 ton ice plant to today's two facilities producing 100 tons, Mireles Ice is expanding to a new state of the art facility. The new facility will utilize two existing P-34 ice makers, along with a new P-34XL and a Keith Walking

Floor ice bin, and 4 bagging lines. The Mireles family is proud to host this tour of their new production facility during the IPIA 99th annual convention.
