What are the requirements for this course?

English requirements

In this course, you will need to read

comprehensive learner workbooks and

textbooks, undertake a range of written

assessments and independent research

activities, and engage in classroom or online

discussions.

Entry requires the successful completion of

Year 10 level English. If you have not achieved

this, you can demonstrate this knowledge by

completing our pre-course commencement

Literacy, Language and Numeracy assessment.

Skill requirements

Students will require some basic computing

skills to complete this course successfully. This

includes:

• Accessing and searching the internet

• Downloading and saving documents from

websites

• Uploading documents through websites

• Participating in online discussions

• Creating, saving and editing Microsoft O�ce

documents

There are no formal education prerequisites for this course. But Mathisi does prefer that you have

completed Certificate II in Business or industry experience in business support roles prior to

enrolment.

Establish contact with customers, process information, work in a team, maintain personal presentation, follow routine instructions, and read and interpret retail documents.

Sell products and services (SIRXSLS201)

Use sales techniques and develop key selling skills, from approaching the customer to closing the sale.

Apply safe work practices (SIRXWHS101)

Procedures for emergency situations, evacuation, accident and illness, and covers the National Health and Safety Commission guidelines for work health and safety.

Work e�ectively in a customer service environment (SIRXIND101)

The performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to work e�ectively in a customer service business environment.

Maintain store safety (SIRXWHS302)

Informing and involving team members, monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment, implementing emergency procedures, identifying a need for training and maintaining adequate records.

Build relationships with customers (SIRXSLS303)

Develop and maintain expert knowledge to provide accurate product information to customers, including post-sales support.

Apply point-of-sale handling procedures (SIRXCCS201)

Operate point-of-sale equipment, apply store policy and procedures to a range of transactions, interact with customers and package an item for transportation.

Promote loyalty programs (SIRXCCS203)

Develop a loyalty program by identifying regular and new repeat customers, including customer eligible for specific loyalty programs.

Advise on products and services (SIRXSLS002A)

Apply specialist or general product knowledge and experience in o�ering advice to customers.

Deliver and monitor a service to customers (BSBCUS301B)

Identify needs and monitor service provided to customers, using technical advice and support either in short or long-term interaction.

Operate retail technology (SIRXICT001A)

Operate a variety of retail equipment, from identifying the right equipment for a task and maintaining this equipment to applying keyboard skills and operating data entry equipment.

Perform stock control procedures (SIRXINV001A)

Learn how to receive and process incoming goods, and rotate and dispatch goods.

Process customer complaints (BSBCMM301B)

Gain the skills and knowledge to handle formal and informal feedback and complaints from customers, using discretion and judgement to provide knowledge of products, customer service systems and organisational policies to provide technical advice and support.
